The Code team is working on new LST Editors for the future but in the
mean time they have tackeled some of the more significant bugs
encountered in the current LST Editors.

Take this opportunity to bang on the improved LST Editors and submit

Don't know if I should post a lst error I found here or if it is called a data
error but I downloaded 5163RC1 and made a centar and the CR was 33 with no added
levels. I changed the CR tag in the
"pcgen5163RC1\data\alpha\paizo\pathfinder_rpg\pathfinder_rpg_bestiary\pathfinder\
_rpg_bestiary_races_abc.lst" to the correct CR. I is just a typo.

I downloaded PCGen 5.16.2 this week, loaded the Pathfinder data and tried
creating an NPC. I reported some difficulties I had on one of the Paizo
messageboards, and between David Bender and Stefan Radermacher's replies via
email, that's all been sorted out.

My next few questions:

* CMB/CMD do not print out on the character sheet, though Use CMB is selected in
Preferences?

* Clerical domains print on the character sheet, but not granted powers?

* How would I go about including 3pp magic items to the datasets I use? The
list editor doesn't seem to allow that.

Thanks!

CMB/CMD - It is on the Standard & compact sheets Don't know about the
others.

Clerical Domains - Well, they do, but not as a granted power that some
of the sheets show. They show up as "Special Qualities" at the
appropriate level.

3PP magic items - If they are "standard" in that they can be built, ie.
long sword +2, holy, keen. Then you can go to the equipment tab, right
click on long sword and it pops up a create special item. If they are
something else, try downloading 5.16.3 RC1 as some work has been done on
the list editors (a really sad area currently) and that may help. If
not, folks can help you code them for your own data files over on the
pcgenlistfilehelp Yahoo group.

Okay, I'll experiment with different sheets.

Clerical Domains - Well, they do, but not as a granted power that some

Aha! Or under Special Attacks in the case of the first power granted by
the Sun domain.

3PP magic items - If they are "standard" in that they can be built, ie.

I was thinking of Wondrous Items along the lines of Loot 4 Less -- nothing
too weird but things you wouldn't build with point-and-click properties.

I'm not positive what the status is, but I believe a request has been submitted
to see if the publisher would be willing to let us include datasets from "Loot 4
Less" products. Even if they do not, creating a custom dataset with the items
that interest you (if not all of them) is very do-able. If you decide to take a
crack at it, look at the similar datasets already included with the PCGen
install and bring your questions to the PCGenListHelp (address found toward the
bottom of this post).

I'm not an expert data monkey, but I've been able to do a lot of the materials
from those books, so I'm pretty confident you can manage it if you want to.
Just drop us a line if you get stuck. There's several people frequenting that
list just to help folks out.

Good luck!

Yes, for now I was only interested in adding a few specific items as a
custom dataset, rather than wholesale incorporation of the whole Loot 4 Less
series or any other 3pp product. I'll take a look at the ones already
included and see what I can suss out from them.

What does this error mean? I've been getting it whenever I try to load a source
I'm working on - which only at this point contains a single class file and a
single ability file. The only special ability currently in the ability lst is a
single AUTO:WEAPONPROF tag which grants the class proficiency with a few
weapons.  The ability works just fine when I wrote it into the class itself;
it's when I try to put it in an ability lst and call it from the class lst that
I have problems.

Try to give the whole error message.
It ususally lists the reference it can't resolve.
In this case, (and without further information) I suspect you misspelled the
ability in either the class file or the ability file, or forgot to include the
ability file in the pcc file.

Hi all,

As some of you have reported, the PCGenListFileHelp and
pcgen_experimental Y! groups have disappeared off the face of the
earth. At this stage the BoD is treating this as a malicious attack
and therefore are:

* Backing up important files from the other Y! groups we run onto a
secure 3rd party location

* Raised a couple of urgent helpdesk calls with Y! (realistically
we're small fry though, not sure of the response time here)

We hope this is just a Y! glitch or an accidental delete by the
original group owner, but until then we advise anyone who has files in
our Files section to make sure they have a backup copy.

More news when we get it.

Sounds great! Looking forward to hearing how it turns out for you. You might
have noticed the announcement that the group I pointed you toward is having some
sort of difficulty, so if you have questions or seek advice in your LST efforts,
this has become the group to use until that group comes back online.

You can contact me directly, also, but I'm not the expert that many of these
folks are.

If you do post your questions on the list, please avoid specific information
about the publisher's content. That is, use generic terms like "I'm wanting to
create a dagger that provides a +2 sacred bonus to Stealth checks," rather than
posting the full text from the book or even "I need to create a Dagger of
Olidammara". The first one (full text) is disrespectful of the publisher's
copyright and against policy for the list; the second (naming the item) is not
so much disrespectful, but it assumes the reader has the same source as you and
requires them to go look up what exactly would need to be done to create the
item you have in mind. The more work they have to do to help you, the less
likely you will get the help in as timely a manner. (For the record, I have no
idea if that item really exists, I made it up as I was typing this.)

I'm not positive what the status is, but I believe a request has been
submitted to see if the publisher would be willing to let us include
datasets from "Loot 4 Less" products. Even if they do not, creating a custom
dataset with the items that interest you (if not all of them) is very
do-able. If you decide to take a crack at it, look at the similar datasets
already included with the PCGen install and bring your questions to the
PCGenListHelp (address found toward the bottom of this post).

Yes, for now I was only interested in adding a few specific items as a
custom dataset, rather than wholesale incorporation of the whole Loot 4 Less
series or any other 3pp product. I'll take a look at the ones already
included and see what I can suss out from them.

My understanding, in general terms, is that your dataset is trying to refer to
something that the software can't find (and thus has not been constructed in
memory). I think herzogaldilkassach's suggestions are spot on. Let us know how
it works out!

Try to give the whole error message.
It ususally lists the reference it can't resolve.
In this case, (and without further information) I suspect you misspelled the
ability in either the class file or the ability file, or forgot to include the
ability file in the pcc file.

If you don't have a WeaponProf LST file that contains the Weapon Proficiency you
are granting with AUTO:WEAPONPROF, that would likely be the source of the
problem.

Help! :)

I've got a new e-book management program and I'm trying to come up with the
proper reg-ex to convert the filename to the info I need for import...

Given file title: "Asprin - Myth, Book #01 - Another Fine Myth.txt"

I want the following to come out:
title = Another Fine Myth
author = Asprin
series = Myth
series_index = 1

Current RegEx: (?P<author>[^_]+) - (?P<series>.+) - (?P<title>.+)

Gives me:
title = Another Fine Myth
author = Asprin
series = Myth, Book #01
series_index =

I'm having trouble coming up with the necessary bits to get rid of ",Book #" and
put the "01" into the series_index.

Any RegEx gurus able to give me a hand?

Thanks!
Barak

It looks like you're right; I copied and pasted the name of the ability straight
into the class lst file and it works fine now. I must have misspelled
something. Thanks for the help!

Why is it not this?

(?P<author>[^_]+) - (?P<series>.+),Book #(?P<series_index>.+) - (?P<title>.+)

p.s. Are you using Java? Knowing which RegEx syntax to target is helpful :)

p.p.s. there are other things you can do like forcing the book number to digits
[\d] that I have skipped above.

This may have already been asked, I did try to search, but every term I searched
on brought back about a thousand messages and after wading though a hundred or
so on each subject and not finding what I was looking for, I finally gave up and
just posted. Sorry if this is repeated stuff I just missed.

1) I downloaded the latest/greatest PCGEN and Pathfinder Files. Copied the
pathfinder files to my DATA directory. Works fine except that the Pathfinder
Files don't show the Beastiary, just the bonus beastiary. The Beastiary appears
to be under the core rules in a subdirectory, but it doesn't show up in the
loaded data list, and the races in it don't show up in my races tab (IE: Drow,
Duerger, Dragons, etc). I tried copy/pasting the directory to the same level as
the core books, but that didn't help either. It's also not listed in my
loadable books.

2) Is there a way to add the 3.5 Paizo books as loadable under the PFRPG? There
are traits in them I'd like to add in.

3) I tried to do some custom campaign stuff and started using the LST editor.
Copied a Monk because I have a class that's a cross between a Monk a Bard and a
Rogue. The copied Monk LEVELS would not delete. Well, they did, but after
saving and reloading, the levels were back. Bug? Or did I do something wrong?
I tried to find documentation on how to use the LST editor to make a class, but
there wasn't anything on the website, races yes, skills yes, etc, no class
documentation.

4) I tried adding a custom skill from my campaign, and that worked just fine.
But... I don't know where it's storing it! It's not in custom sources or
my_dataset. I did a search for the skill name on all files in the PCGEN
directory, but nothing! Not sure what I did wrong here. It keeps showing up,
but no idea where it's being stored (so I can't send the custom skill to my
players).

Hey, Matthew -- I think this post from a while back might help for some of your
questions.

http://wiki.pcgen.org/index.php?title=Pathfinder_Bestiary_Data_Set_Released_to_P\
CGen_Users

Sorry, not sure where the LST editor stores the files, but the latest release
(5.16.3 RC1) includes fixes for the LST editors, so it might be worth checking
out if you haven't already (not sure if your "latest and greatest" is 5.16.2,
5.16.3 RC1, or 5.17.1).

Hope there's something of use there.

Yes, if you download the 5.16.3rc1 everything has been incorporated into that
release for Pathfinder so far.

Create a character, race, stats, etc. don't matter.

Give the character a class, say fighter
Switch to character preview (one that shows the CR), and you get CR 1/2
(good)
Add fighter level - CR 1 (good)
Continue to add fighter levels and the CR goes up 1 each time (good)

Create a new character, race, stats, etc. don't matter.
Give the character a class, say fighter
Switch to character preview (one that shows the CR), and you get CR 1/2
(good)
Add fighter level - CR 1 (good)
Add any other class, say cleric CR *still* 1 (bad)

It looks like when you multiclass it gives a 1/2 CR for each of the

Hi Folks,

Just minor editing to correct small typos. Otherwise this is the original
transcript.

[19:00] <@[Chair]Andrew> I have 7pm PDT - is everyone ready?

[19:00] <[PR]Maredudd> yep

[19:00] <@[Chair]Andrew> Welcome to the PCGen Board of Directors tonight's
agenda includes:

[19:00] <@[Chair]Andrew> 0) Welcome Barak

[19:00] <@[Chair]Andrew>

[19:00] <@[Chair]Andrew> 1) Team Reports which should encompass:

[19:00] <@[Chair]Andrew> 1a) Sub Projects Progress - Some of these will be
covered by the Team Reports.

[19:00] <@[Chair]Andrew> 1b) CDOM,

[19:00] <@[Chair]Andrew> 1c) UI,

[19:01] <@[Chair]Andrew> 1d) LST Editor,

[19:01] <@[Chair]Andrew> 1e) Template Engine,

[19:01] <@[Chair]Andrew> 1f) Forum/Mail Integration

[19:01] <@[Chair]Andrew> 2) 5.16.3RC2 or Production Release? - Any Hold ups?

[19:01] <@[Chair]Andrew> 3) Outstanding issues

[19:01] <@[Chair]Andrew> 3a) Any Data Approval Gating Code Progress? [6.x]

[19:01] <@[Chair]Andrew> 3b) SF to JIRA Progress/Status

[19:01] <@[Chair]Andrew> 3c) WIKI updates -

[19:01] <@[Chair]Andrew> 3d) Any Proposals that are outstanding at this point?

[19:01] <@[Chair]Andrew> 4) Missing Yahoo Groups - updates?

[19:01] <@[Chair]Andrew> 5) Open Discussion

[19:01] <@[Chair]Andrew> * Can also include recognition of any volunteers for
outstanding work -
it's been a goodly time since we had any well-deserved public praise for hard
work

[19:01] <@[Chair]Andrew> Okay, I'll start of with the Admin Team

[19:03] <@[Chair]Andrew> Trackers - David has tackled 100+ trackers easily, and
still plenty more to
go. Data still is needed as is Docs, OS... I think PL is under the Code
Trackers... And New Source
is closed out from SF.

[19:03] <@[Chair]Andrew> AinvarG is our newest TM and is undertaking some PF
Data bugs.

[19:04] <@[Chair]Andrew> Website - Well, we've had a bit of a flurry from recent
events - Important
files are being backed up to the VPS; and I'll be contact Tony to get an update
on the Bridge; we've
also asked for another volunteer with some experience in those areas if he'd be
interested in
joining up.

[19:05] <@[Chair]Andrew> Release - James got 5.16.3RC1 out the door, and Eric
posted the
announcements. James when is the next release scheduled currently?

[19:07] <@[Chair]Andrew> James?

[19:07] <jamesd[Code_SB]> Sorry called away

[19:08] <jamesd[Code_SB]> The next release is really dependant on the discussion
today

[19:08] <@[Chair]Andrew> fair enough

[19:08] <jamesd[Code_SB]> it will be either 5.16.3 or 5.16.3 RC2

[19:08] <@[Chair]Andrew> We'll tackle that at agenda item #2 then. :)

[19:08] <@[Chair]Andrew> Any questions then?

[19:09] <@[Chair]Andrew> James, you're up next. :)

[19:10] <jamesd[Code_SB]> maybe skip me for now

[19:10] <@[Chair]Andrew> fair enough, Tom are you ready?

[19:11] <[Arch_SB]thpr> ok

[19:11] <[Arch_SB]thpr> Basically just chipping away at the CDOM work

[19:11] <[Arch_SB]thpr> Primarily a lot of "guts" items for the moment - nothing
that data would
notice, for example

[19:12] <[Arch_SB]thpr> trying to get a few things worked out for some other
work that will help
clear up the final steps of CHOOSE

[19:12] <[Arch_SB]thpr> that's pretty much it from me of late

[19:12] <@[Chair]Andrew> unless there are questions for Tom, well move on to
Eric.

[19:13] <[PR]Maredudd> No question from me.

[19:13] <[PR]Maredudd> The PR Team report will be short as usual.

[19:14] <[PR]Maredudd> Press Release went out for RC1, as Andrew stated earlier.
When the next RC or
Production T=Release goes out we'll hit it again.

[19:16] <[PR]Maredudd> A new publisher has come on board. Rite Publishing has
granted us permission
to include their source material,

[19:16] <[PR]Maredudd> Jumping back to Trackers, I have closed all Doc Bugs and
am in the process of
moving the Doc FREQs from SF to JIRA.

[19:17] <[PR]Maredudd> That's all I have. Any questions?

[19:17] <Papa-DRB> Raises hand...

[19:17] <@[Chair]Andrew> Excellent news on the new publisher.

[19:17] <@[Chair]Andrew> Go ahead David

[19:17] <Papa-DRB> Does the PR team "publish" the new releases on the Paizo
boards?

[19:18] <[PR]Maredudd> Yes we do but the latest hasn't made it over there yet.
Neither has it made
it to ENWorld. I'm doing those shortly . . .

[19:18] <Papa-DRB> Ok. Paizo has been done already... ( oops )

[19:19] <@[Chair]Andrew> I've got no questions... Back to James for Code Report.

[19:20] <jamesd[Code_SB]> Sure

[19:20] <jamesd[Code_SB]> Well as you would have seen there was a flurry of
activity for the 5.16.2
RC1 release

[19:20] <jamesd[Code_SB]> Over the past two weeks we have had 30 bugs raised and
27 resolved.

[19:21] <jamesd[Code_SB]> One feature request resolved in that time also

[19:22] <jamesd[Code_SB]> One major focus of that effort was the stability of
the LST editor

[19:22] <jamesd[Code_SB]> Barak has noted a few new issues there so they will
need to be logged and
fixed too

[19:22] <jamesd[Code_SB]> To that end code would like to see a RC2 release going
out before the final

[19:23] <jamesd[Code_SB]> Before I move to the sub-projects, any questions
there?

[19:23] <@[Chair]Andrew> No questions here. Good effort

[19:24] <[PR]Maredudd> None here.

[19:24] <jamesd[Code_SB]> Oh and thanks to JIRA I now have easy access to stats
for the meeting.
Anyone is welcome to look at my dashboard to get an idea of the type of info
that we can get out for
a project.

[19:24] <jamesd[Code_SB]> ok, the UI revamp continues to make good progress.

[19:25] <jamesd[Code_SB]> You would have seen the design for the new equipping
page John produced

[19:25] * @[Chair]Andrew agrees the roadmap feature in JIRA is nice

[19:25] <jamesd[Code_SB]> and the summary tab is getting very close to done

[19:26] <jamesd[Code_SB]> Tom covered the CDOM work and the LST Editor revamp
hasn't progressed in
the last two weeks

[19:27] <jamesd[Code_SB]> So that's it from me - any questions?

[19:27] <jamesd[Code_SB]> or anything I missed?

[19:27] <@[Chair]Andrew> We have any status on the Template Engine?

[19:28] <jamesd[Code_SB]> I am not aware of any progress on that front

[19:28] <@[Chair]Andrew> No further questions then.

[19:28] <@[Chair]Andrew> Agenda Item #2

[19:28] <@[Chair]Andrew> 2) 5.16.3RC2 or Production Release? - Any Hold ups?

[19:29] <@[Chair]Andrew> I agree that we need an RC2, all in favor?

[19:29] *** Thoth___ has joined #pcgen

[19:29] <jamesd[Code_SB]> aye

[19:29] <@[Chair]Andrew> admin - aye

[19:29] <[Arch_SB]thpr> y

[19:29] <[PR]Maredudd> aye

[19:29] <@[Chair]Andrew> and content abstains. Ayes have it. RC2 shall be the
next release.

[19:30] <@[Chair]Andrew> Item #2

[19:30] <jamesd[Code_SB]> ok. I'll aim for that to be on the weekend then

[19:30] <@[Chair]Andrew> #3 sorry,

[19:30] <jamesd[Code_SB]> One quick question

[19:30] <@[Chair]Andrew> go ahead

[19:30] <jamesd[Code_SB]> There was mention earlier of the traits for pathfinder
being included in
output sheets for 5.16.3 - is that still a possibility?

[19:31] <@[Chair]Andrew> I took a look, and on my copies, those exist in 5.16
branch

[19:31] <[PR]Maredudd> On which sheets?

[19:31] <@[Chair]Andrew> I'll do a double check tonight, and add them if that is
not the case.

[19:31] <jamesd[Code_SB]> ok, we might need to compare notes then - we can do
that after the meeting

[19:31] <jamesd[Code_SB]> Thanks

[19:32] <jamesd[Code_SB]> html combined and pdf standard

[19:32] <@[Chair]Andrew> 3) Outstanding issues

[19:32] <@[Chair]Andrew> 3a) Any Data Approval Gating Code Progress? [6.x]

[19:32] <Papa-DRB> Question - Should we have Pathfinder specific sheets since
enough has changed?

[19:33] <@[Chair]Andrew> The base sheet can handle them all, unless something
odd has occurred..

[19:33] <Papa-DRB> CR's are different in Pathfinder than 3.5

[19:33] <@[Chair]Andrew> It's a pain to have multiple sheets, as it's a
hindrance to maintain when
doing updates.

[19:33] <@[Chair]Andrew> CRs aren't an OS thing, that's a GameMode thing.

[19:34] <Papa-DRB> ok

[19:34] <@[Chair]Andrew> Okay, Tom and James - Anything you require from the
Data Team to progress?

[19:34] <@[Chair]Andrew> Any outstanding proposals that require attention?

[19:35] <[Arch_SB]thpr> Not at this time

[19:35] <@[Chair]Andrew> I know James is dying to upload the SORTKEY code so he
can have a clean repo...

[19:35] <jamesd[Code_SB]> Just the approval for the sortkey proposal

[19:35] <jamesd[Code_SB]> :)

[19:36] <jamesd[Code_SB]> Tom I had satisfied your concerns about il8n on that
one hadn't I?

[19:36] <[Arch_SB]thpr> yes

[19:36] <@[Chair]Andrew> Okay, I'll raise that one on PCGen main... see if we
can't get that
resolved quickly.

[19:37] <[Arch_SB]thpr> My primary interlock item is TEST-23, which I need to
catch up with you Andrew

[19:37] <@[Chair]Andrew> SF to JIRA Progress/Status - We pretty much already
covered that in the
team status reports.

[19:37] <[Arch_SB]thpr> thanks to David for his work on that

[19:37] <@[Chair]Andrew> Okay, looks like I'll be staying after the meeting

[19:37] <@[Chair]Andrew> :)

[19:37] <@[Chair]Andrew> Yes, Thank You David.

[19:38] <@[Chair]Andrew> Wiki updates - I'd like to add a tag system or
something to remind myself
and anyone else interested for any time sensitive items. Other than that I think
the Wiki is a great
tool with lots of information.

[19:39] <@[Chair]Andrew> Shouldn't be too hard to add. Any questions about the
Outstanding Issues
before we move on?

[19:39] <[PR]Maredudd> Nope.

[19:40] <@[Chair]Andrew> #4 - 4) Missing Yahoo Groups - updates?

[19:40] <@[Chair]Andrew> Kar put out a quick press release about this unexpected
event.

[19:41] <@[Chair]Andrew> We haven't heard back from Yahoo via Kar about any new
developments.

[19:42] <@[Chair]Andrew> The Teams are working to minimize any damage that this
has caused. Unless
anyone has anything to add or knows something else, I think this is going to be
a matter of waiting
for answers.

[19:43] <@[Chair]Andrew> Questions?

[19:43] <[PR]Maredudd> Nope.

[19:43] <@[Chair]Andrew> Okay, agenda item #0 - Welcome our new Content
Silverback - Barak aka Chris
Chandler. Who couldn't make it tonight due to other obligations.

[19:44] <@[Chair]Andrew> He'll be getting up to speed shortly and it should be a
smooth transition.

[19:45] <@[Chair]Andrew> Alright that's it for the main agenda, item #5 is Open
Discussion where
anyone present may voice questions, or offer comments about PCGen related
matters.

[19:45] <@[Chair]Andrew> You may also include recognition of any volunteers for
outstanding work -
it's been a goodly time since we had any well-deserved public praise for hard
work

[19:46] <@[Chair]Andrew> We've already mentioned David tonight. :)

[19:46] <Papa-DRB> Thanks...

[19:47] <@[Chair]Andrew> Anyone have anything at all to discuss? [5 minutes of
no activity and I'll
assume nobody has anything they want to discuss]

[19:47] <[PR]Maredudd> Paul G has done a great job over the last couple of
months taking care of the
Licensing/OGL reviews!

[19:47] <cpmeister____> what's the status of the up and coming Developer's
meeting?

[19:47] <cpmeister____> do we have a set date yet?

[19:48] <jamesd[Code_SB]> I'll look over the suggestions tonight and send out a
suggestion. I thin
one of the best times was Friday night EDT

[19:48] <jamesd[Code_SB]> but I will confirm that in a few hours

[19:48] <cpmeister____> k

[19:50] <@[Chair]Andrew> I'd like to say good Job to Conor for putting out UI
updates practically
every day. The work in the demo is amazing and awesome. And also for John and
Kar behind the scenes
for the amazing effort going into this project.

[19:51] <cpmeister____> thanks :)

[19:51] <@[Chair]Andrew> James - The Developers meeting is where we discuss the
eventual merging of
the various Sub projects, yes?

[19:51] <jamesd[Code_SB]> That's correct yes

[19:53] <@[Chair]Andrew> Anyone else want to ask anything before the close of
the meeting?

[19:54] <cpmeister____> nope

[19:54] <jamesd[Code_SB]> none form me

[19:54] <AinvarG> Nothing here

[19:54] <[Arch_SB]thpr> nope

[19:55] <@[Chair]Andrew> Thanks for coming everyone. Meeting Adjourned *Bangs
Gavel*
