[Announce] PCC2 beta 16   Message List

Hi there,

I have released PCC2 beta 16, a VGA Planets client for 32-bit and
64-bit systems.

This release adds PCC's flagship feature: Auto Tasks. An auto task
is a little program you can attach to a ship or planet, which that
unit will execute. For example, you can tell a ship to "move here,
then move there", so you can give multi-turn movement orders in
advance. Press ENTER on a unit to go to the auto task editor;
another ENTER to go back to the unit. The most important auto task
functions are
- auto waypoints for ships. Just double-click your route.
- ship build queues. Try building a ship normally; if you're lacking
minerals, it'll be put on the auto task for later.
Note that auto tasks are executed by PCC2; it must see your turn to
process them, auto tasks will not continue when you miss a turn.

Another useful new old feature is the VCR warrior information. Press
'l' or 'r' on a VCR to let PCC2 compute more information about the
unit.

Some other features now also learned their old tricks again. You can
now build ammo from ships, and the navigation chart allows more warp
circles and supports setting up chunnels (as implemented in PCC
1.1.18). The interpreter got sped up a lot, I've seen factor 3 for
real-world code.

As usual, download it on

Have fun,
Stefan
