Subject: OD&Dities Online Future
Given the spate of spam on this group, I am considering creating a
successor group to this one here on Y!groups. My plan would migrate
all content and members to the successor group then request Y!groups to
delete the old group. The successor group would then be renamed to
take this group's name.
Is there is any objections to do so? Or any other questions?

I'm here for the archives, myself. I'm already on the ODDGuild group as
well.
I presume this group is trapped in Moderator Limbo? Ah, well, at least
the spam helps keep the activity rate up, hopefully enough to keep the
group from getting wiped. ;)

I see that we have a couple of new members (nonspaming that is). You
might want to join the OD&D Guild as there is a lot more discussion
there, links and other files. We are just using this group to archive
the old issues of OD&Dities.

Acctually this group -- OD&Dities Online -- is a group original set
up by Richard Tongue under his original Y!account. With that account
no longer active and no one else appointed moderated, this group is
completely unmoderated. That is one reason for setting up the new
OD&D Guild group. That group is set up to moderate new members.
This group is effectively just being used as storage for the
OD&Dities issues as they is plenty of discussion occurring on OD&D
Guild. You might want to set email setting to none.
So I also take this opportunity to invite those that have not joined
OD&DGuild to come on over.

looking for the old campaign maps for Pelinore.
Map of the Lygol Woods

Map of the City League and its Environs
Map of the Lygol Delta
I had them at one time but seemed to have missplaced them.
Any help would be appreciated.

This might be my fault. I inquired how to restore Richard access to
his yahoo account and thus back as owner in that group. The
responsed that they would be violating their privacy policy to tell
me anything. In response, I stated what the situation was due to
other Y!Groups that Richard owned showing that his email account is
bouncing from an email account he no longer has and due to real world
situation did not log on his yahoo account. While writing this
response, I happen to go to TheODDguild to find it no longer existed.
I hope that this will not happen to this group. But just in case, I
have copied my article db to my notepad so that work will not be lost.
I though about created a new group by the same name, theODDguild, but
if by some chance they might restore it, I do not want it to be in
the way so to speak.

I set up a database to list the OD&Dities articles. It needs a
little more work in figuring out how to correct the articles types to
sort
better and how to handle multiple authors better (if there is any).
I figure that this would be a good way to know which modules have been
reviewed in OD&Dities, when a particular article ran in what issue
and replace the "Friends of OD&Dities" listing from the late website.

Hello, everyone!
I have news of OD&DITIES 13. It is not good, but it is not bad either.
Simply put, it is light – not enough articles to fill an issue. I
thought I had enough – it turns out I do not. So I must throw the ball
in your court – I need articles. As many as possible. As soon as I get
more than thirty-six pages of material, I will go with OD&DITIES 13.
We take anything OD&D related – rules, adventures, stories, thoughts,
campaigns, interviews, anything. All to be emailed to me at
Methuslah@...

And glad to be back, I assure you. It's been a weird few months.
Incidentally, I was just re-reading the 'Getting Started' book when I
stumbled across a reference to 'Prestige Classes'. Everything else is
OD&D; the adventure has OD&D stats, all the references are OD&D, just
the one line.
Then I remembered - I originally was doing two versions, one for 3e
and one for OD&D. Somehow a page from the abandoned 3e version got
into the OD&D master file.
Odd.
But as I said - it's good to be back.
Richard

Hello!
My apologies for my prolonged and enforced absence. I've been
fighting a duel with the government for a few months now that's
taken most of my attention. I'm afraid I lost, but it was worth a
try. I was attempting to set up a sci-fi magazine using a government
grant. It was beginning to get good, and then the plug got pulled on
my funding. I used up most of my month's notice trying to appeal the
decision, but it was no go. (In case anyone is interested, let me
know and I'll send them to you.) Then Yahoo! went and cancelled my
ID, cutting off most of my contacts list. I still am nowhere near
reconstructing it. (And now I'm Methuslah1 instead of plain old
Methuslah.)
Officially and for the record, I endorse and approve any hosting or
distribution of OD&DITIES, as long as it is free and complete. I've
written something a bit longer in my editorial for Issue 13.
Yes.
13.
Tomorrow night. Thursday at the latest.
I'll post it here as soon as it is done.
What next? Well, Volume 2 of my autobiography's been nagging at me
for a while, I reckon I might complete that. Then there's the Star
Trek 2220's netbook I've been thinking about lately. Then there's
OD&DITIES 14, of course.
Richard
PS : I took the liberty of uploading 'Getting Started' to the files
section. I wrote it about six-eight months ago, based on the article
series I wrote for OD&DITIES; I submitted it to Dragonsfoot, but
something seemed to happen. Anyway, if anyone wants a look, it's
there to be read.

mmmmmmmm There was something posted on the ODDITIES site that

it was the only thing on the site that I was never able to download,
not even when I checked the Wayback Machine. I saw the message in
the other group that Richard Tongue had posted on the Dragonsfoot
site and that he is working on Issue 13. Also how his webhost pulled
the plug on his site for unknown reasons. So when he has the site
back up, he will probably restore everything. I think it is good to
have these here though and hopefully Richard will be ok with it. If
the sizes remain consistent for the files we could back up another 12
issues here if needed. I have been working on some OD&D stuff, I
have notes dating back decades at this point and maybe I will have
some of it ready by the time Richard gets to ISSUE 14 or 15 :).

sshum2003: Are you thinking of the Almanac issue 1? It was his d20
System netzine under his Transfinite Publications business (not to be
confused with his current Transfinite SciFi Netzine). He posted to
the OD&Dities website after Pheonix Rising Games disappeared.
Although, you mentioning that has reminded me that we do not have
the maps and errata from a couple of issues. Seems like the errata
was for issue 4; Maps for issue 4 or 5.
