As most of you are aware, a lot of work is being done to create NASPA
(North American Scrabble Players Association) to be the organization to
replace the NSA.
The new organization has been able to involve many players in various
committees that are helping implement the change. One of these is the
Canadian Committee, whose role is to deal with issues that only affect
Scrabble players in Canada.
I have been serving as an ad hoc member of this committee for the last
few months, along with David Boys, Siri Tillekeratne, John Aitkens, and
Committee Chair John Robertson. Jeff Parsons has recently joined the
Committee. We have decided on the qualification processes for the next
Canadian Championship, and for the 2011 World Championship. We have also
had a lot of discussion about what the future structure of this
Committee should be. I think this is important, since it will be the
most important representative body for Scrabble players in this country.
We have arrived at a proposed structure for an elected six-person
Canadian Committee, and posted it here:

We are asking for comments and input before this structure is finalized
after July 1. I would appreciate it greatly if you would have a look at
the proposal and let us know what you think.
Please hit reply and give us at least a thumbs up or thumbs down. Any
thoughts on things you like or dislike would be helpful, as well as any
other suggestions.
Discussion can also be posted to the NASPA Canadian Committee yahoo
groups list by emailing:

Your input will help us bring about the best possible Canadian
Committee.
Thanks,
Tony Leah
