Our local grocery store has sliced turkey breast on sale this week at the
deli. Same thing last year. I know that because I talked to the deli lady
about it and she said they do this every year and she has no idea why. She
said they weren't selling a lot of it even though it was on sale. Go
figure.

I bought Ham off the bone and baby swiss. It's gone already, but I have a
20 pound bird going on the charcoal grill tomorrow, so there will be some
leftover turkey for Friday.

Not a chance, but nothing to do with tomorrow. I don't know what was
the impetus but a couple of months ago something flipped in my taste
buds and the thought of turkey anything just didn't sound appealing,
and I've always been a rather big fan of the bird. I keep waiting for
it to come back around but so far - nothing. So it's going to be a
brisket and ribs Thanksgiving for us tomorrow since I'm doing the
cooking.

Like he meats his mistress in the hotel, or the store stocks different

Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. The next movie I saw in the

liked it a lot.

There are a couple of very good breakfast restaurants in my area.
Current favorite is Cherie Inn, a place that tries to create a French
atmosphere and makes crepes to die for.

Not sure, I don't use moving sidewalks. I walk. As to the second
question, is that like being ticked at people who climb escalators if
I'm standing still? No, I'm not hostile.

No but in August of 2001 I sold a toy on eBay to someone who had it in

We moved from California to Michigan when I was six months old. The
house we lived in in California was torn down when we went to
California to visit family ten years later. I may have seen the house
when I was an infant, but I don't know what it looked like except in
pictures.

I've seen a lot of crap movies (I reviewed them for a few years and
saw literally everything that came out for a while), but Blue Steel
was literally the only film that I got up to walk out of, though my
girlfriend stopped me. So very bad.

> Do you have any food allergies?
> If so, what's the one you most regret having?

Unfortunately, nearly all raw fruits (it's a word like "meats," hey!)
and raw vegetables cause a bad reaction. Only the most acidic fruits
(citrus, grapes, pomegranates, that kind of thing) are ok.

Bizarrely, it appears to be something very specific in certain parts
of the plant. For example, if I eat a stalk of celery then my throat
swells up and throws a massive itching attack, but if you de-string it
(or I just eat the parts w/o the strings) it's no problem at all. Same
with the very center of a raw carrot, that commonly-darker part: the
surrounding flesh is fine, but that center part causes a huge
reaction.

Even stranger, perhaps, if you cook them just a little bit -- even
lightly steaming -- the problem goes entirely away.

Teleportation. Just think of the good you could do.

Like it, but it was an acquired taste.

> What's your best guess at your time if you had to run 100 meters right now?

How old does a toddler have to be before it can run? 'Cause I'm pretty
sure "one lifetime" is the answer, if I actually had to run.. Very
sad.

Interestingly enough (to me anyway), Dark Knight and Batman Begins were the
only two Batman movies I managed to watch all the way through. I hated the

Yeah...many of my food dislikes are due to oversweetness or overly dry
texture (shredded coconut, which is both overly sweet and super dry,
gets particularly singled out as 'something I don't like').

I'm happy to eat raw fish and mostly raw meats, all manner of exotic
stuff, but I don't particularly care for nuts, marshmallows, coconut,
pineapple, melons...I used to be strongly anti-olive but I have
started to come around on that one, although I still prefer the green
ones and can't stand the black ones. (Also, don't like coffee or
toffee. Pretty much anything ending in an -offee is right out.)

Those aren't too bad, now if they were half cooked cold scrambled

You know, I haven't. I don't think I would be unable to eat it, but
in much the same way that I don't seek out dried shredded coconut,
pineapples or marshmallows, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't enjoy the
experience.

I usually look for more to recommend a given food than 'I could
probably eat it without vomiting'.

I have to ask, have you tried cold scrambled eggs lately?

I don't get this one either, but then I'm a fan of all sorts of
'ground meat'-based foods: meatloaf, pate, hamburgers...

On the other hand, when I was a kid I did actually puke when my
parents made me eat cold scrambled eggs.

On some level we're into heavy psychological territory here. What's
the difference between meatloaf and a burger? breadcrumbs,
egg...probably two different types of meat, since meatloaf usually is
a combo of beef, veal and pork...mmm, now I want some.

I can't think of an edible food that would make me gag...although
there are probably some out there that I would rather spit out than
swallow. (And the qualification means that I'm leaving out stuff that
is clearly spoiled. Mold in a non-controlled cheese form is probably
a disqualifier for me.)

Most hamburgers are fine but there have been some that have tasted or
smelled like meatloaf to me that have triggered it. Chili's used to have
meatloafy burgers but they don't anymore.
I don't know what does it to me but I can't even stand the smell. The
individual ingredients are fine but there is something about the combination
that just disgusts me. My mother's meatloaf is (IMHO) the most nauseating
food imaginable, but other people have loved it.
So maybe I choked on some as a kid, I have no idea.

The Heath Ledger or Jack Nicholson version?

(Wondering just how long ago it was that you were in a theater)

At first I was going to say that's an odd combo of facts, but then I
realized in the 20+ years since I moved from my home town you could
count on the fingers of half a hand how many times I've been back. And
most of those were in the first few.

See, to me that just doesn't sound right, I'd be asking "How many
different types of meat are in a club sandwich?" Where I hear it all
the time is on radio ads for barbecue joints. "$9.95 gets you 3 meats
and 2 sides..."

I'm not arguing it's wrong, it just sounds so funny to my ears.

Meatloaf, eh? Now that I find odd. Does a hamburger get to you at
all? Is it some memory of getting a slice of really bad meatloaf that
does it?

The only food I'd ever had give me a gag reflex is mincemeat pie. Or
is that mincemeats? Either way, the most vile food item I'd ever
personally tasted. Even worse than moldy pumpkin pie.
