Great thinking, Joseph! Unfortunately, I don't think your tactics fall under the "cheese" catagory... you were utilizing your troops to counter your opponent....
We all become so used to playing a game at more than one command level that we often do not remember the consequences of decisions - consequences that impact...
Bob, there's nothing wrong with pre-measuring it self. It's just cheesy in the way it gets exploited. But, don't get me wrong, I have no problem with and...
I think the point Bob is making is that it is not cheesy it is historically accurate. The practice of putting white marker pegs at 50 yd increments out from...
Nah, it's plain and simply sharp-cheddar for my opponent to place his firing template, off MY gun, so that he can see exactly where MY firing path lays; and...
Ok. Uncle! Justo ... From: napsbattles@yahoogroups.com [mailto:napsbattles@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Kevin Rounsaville Sent: Saturday, December 01, 2007...
Well, Scott, it appears I've failed to gather any support to bring your lactose to end... I here by abdicate my position ; ) When's our next game? Justo aka...
Too late or not.....I agree with you, Justo....pre-measureing is for rules-lawyering pettifoggers. When the orders are given and the advance begins the poor...
Justo - On the plus side, it is just as fun a game when played with or without pre-measuring...but everybody should be playing the same way. It's not an...
Did anyone read my post about the optional artillery template? The template we are using appears flawed to me. It extends straight out beyond the original...
Yea, I know, and believe me this was not at all intended as grumbling... The post was initially intended to poke fun at Scott (to jerk his chain) but it...
OK...I'll bite...what makes players think the template doesn't keep expanding at the extended ranges? The rules don't state either way...one simply must...
That's what I thought. My game buddy seems to think it should extend straight out... It makes no sense to me, just thought someone might offer a reason why it...
Has anyone else Played this before? We are about to play this weekend and need some advice. Assuming that Jirschikowtiz is supposed to be in C7, what should...
I think you are correct--the template starts as the base width of the artillery piece, and extends out at that angle for the entire length of the range of guns...
Try the scenario of the files section. Austerlitz.pdf I think that is a revised version of the Blue book scenario made by Paul Edgar or Richard Brooks Rafa ......
Thanks Rafa! I will have to try those out. For this attempt though, we are committed to the Blue Book scenario (bull headed...I know). Based on comments from...
That scenario from Blue book has some mistakes, in the map and the OOB. I recommend you that you design a new map, I can send you some I have. In any case that...
Some mistakes is being kind. It is a mess and I would not use it. The O/B in Bowden's book is best and his and Duffy's maps are also good. The problem is with...
I agree with Bob in regard to Bowden's book although I would say that the maps are also good. It was apity that Bowden or his publishers did not see fit to...
Hi Bob! Yeah, I keep hearing that about this scenario. Unfortunalty, we are stuck with this one (not enough time to change). We will definetly try out the...
I take my losses with grace and often... Its getting to the point where Scott (my opponent) doesn't even bother to make wise cracks or share his expoilts on...
