Double checked on both the Amazon and Front Line books websites and it
definately is Volume 2 that you must have seen. It is well worth getting this
volume as it contains one of the best accounts of the Italian campaign I have
seen and that includes Epstein;s account. Avtually I think Gill has done a
better job than Epstein.Gill does not cover Raab in Volume II nor has he covered
the Polish campaign. I expect he will cover both in the final volume as well as
Wagram and Znaim.
I would anticipate that the final volume would be available in the summer or
autumn of this year based on the release dates of the first two volumes. I
look forward to it.

Please do, it would be helpful to know if I can read or not (let me know if
the image came through). I've always been impressed with Amazon's service,
but if they can offer next day shipping on something that isn't out until later
in the year, they're on to something.

I think it might have been Volume 2 you saw. According to the publisher's
website, at least last time I looked the final volume is not due until later
this year. Of course, it is possible that they published it early and you
are
correct.
Either that or Amazon have wormhole technology that we don't know about :-)
I will check later though, just in cas you are right.

I believe I saw Vol III of Gill's Austrian campaign on Amazon the other
day...

A couple of other interesting smaller scenario possibilities from the 1809
campaign might be the engagement at Laichling (21 April), Eggmuhl, Hausen,
Sacile,Soave/Sacile,Soave/CastelcerinCastelcerino (29 - 30 April

also interesting but the latter in particular is a massive game, Apart from
Wagram all of the above have been covered in Gill's recent work, the first
two
volumes of which are already in print and well worth the cost.
The evening attack on the first day of Wagram would be a good scenario but
the second day would require a very large table and perhaps needs to be run
in
2mm to make it viable. It would also require a lengthy playing time, at
least
a full day or weekend and probably more. However, from a grand tactical
perspective it is a fascinating subject. You could of course game parts of
the
battle as seperate games eg the struggle for the line of the Russbach etc
which
could be more achievable.
I am looking forward to the third volume of Gill's work due to be published
later in the year, particularly if he covers Znaim in detail as this also
would be a great NB scenario.

I had planned on doing Raab and Talavera this year at
our local HMGS cons. So the timing is perfect for the
first one in April. That will feature Raab in 6mm. My
French and Austrians arrived a couple weeks ago and
the first division will get painted this week. I am
very excited about it.
