Wow, thanks for the pic! What's funny is that "checkered" and "chequered" are
both valid spellings to me. The version with the q just has more of an old-world
flair in my mind, like it's the "proper" or "scientific" version of the word.
This meant that when looking at your picture, it seemed completely normal and
right, and I had to look at the other version of it. But then that seemed right.
My brain wasn't liking making the distinction, or believing that there was one
:)
One thing else I noticed was the fine print on the bottom of the label. On
"Checkered Flag" it's:
©1987 by M.B. Co. Made in China. Patent Pending.
And of course that last bit is what fired up the sequence of events that lead me
to Mr. Titchener. It looks like the text on "Chequered Flag" may be slightly
different. Is it still numbered 4821?
