As there is no current activity on this Group, and as it is easier to create a
new Group rather than dig through this one, I have new created a new Mathian
Colonists Group.

If you are still playing a Malathian Colonist, please go to:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Malathian_Colony

If you are not, sorry to diterb you.

If you are not happy with this action, please let me know.

Man that was fun!

Noone seemed to want to take my awfully broad hints all day. come on
Serengeti and Jaeger - I let him do that stupid action just so you'd
get pissed off and job him and you BOTTLED it!!!! Stop being so bloody
reasonable next time ok??

Was looking forward to me being a grateful rich widow (as apparently
were Norden Pete and Angus- lol) but getting to put the final cut in
myself was immensely satisfying - I recommend it for all your divorce
needs. Guts is the game baby - retiring is for wimps!

Getting consumed by a giant serpent in a grand finale was DEFINITELY
as highlight too.

BTW - Can't really post this on Rule7 but the funniest quote of the
weekend (and there were MANY) was

*Aticus pings in to the ritual circle*
Millen guy "Is that.... ATICUS?!"
Millen guy 2 "Um.... I think it is!"
Aticus "McKINLEYYYYYYY!!!!"
Millen guy "Should we kill him?"
Millen guy 2 "Um.... I'm not sure we *CAN*"

That was mint....

Hope you had a good exit the two of you, certainly stirred up a

Hi there,

Just to let you all know that after a long break I'm looking forward
to getting back into Maelstrom again. I'll not be doing the Coffee
House this time though so I will be glad to lend a hand to Craimar
and the guys in The Galley when I'm not out machinating. It seems
like a nice place to shelter from the rain and what I understand will
probably be a bloodbath :) WOOT! I love events where lots happen -
but perhaps I will wish for a quiet life before long :)

Looking forward to seeing you all again,

Nina/Vhaidra/Whatever

Hi all, Simon aka Craimar here (despite the unupdateable Yahoo ID).

I was worried to hear about the mass attack on the Malathian camp and
hope that some of you managed to make it out intact. If you did, I
look forward to seeing you in the Galley at the next event.

For those that didn't, may I offer Morgan Enterprises as a potential
venue for your new characters? The Galley is now in full swing and
while it is of negotiable location, it is still a true Malathian clan.
We also intend to revive the White Angel bar in the evenings, under a
different name.

So for those that wish to play barmen/maids, waiters/waitresses,
bouncers, entertainers, skivvys, gamblers, whores (we have a private
back room that might be given over to poker or loaned on occasion to
the Chamber of Delights), or just town drunks, please get in touch.

We are also interested in recruiting anyone wishing to play some other
kind of enterprising character. The IC income from the Galley allows
Craimar to underwrite and/or finance high-value high-profit deals in
all the usual Malathian areas of expertise.

Those with hygeine certificates and a willingness to flirt with the
chef are especially welcome.

Hi y'all,

I have an idea for a new group the deadites might be interested in starting
(yes, I know I'm still alive - OC and IC - woohoo!). Always assuming you're
not all going to come back as Malathian hard nuts with a hatred of Flambard
and Fidelia.

The anti-theists would be a group who refuse to worship the gods, they see
no reason that these powerful beings deserve our reverence and some actively
hate the gods. They hold that the gods use people as pawns in a game that
the people recieve no benefit from. They would consist of a mixture of races
and nationalities (perhaps the group can have been based in the Free Islands
previous to moving to the new World) and would range from simple lack of
devotion to rabid proselytising against the gods. They could be anyone from
veterans of religious wars, to philosophers. It could be 2 people or 50. Of
course more will stand a better chance against all the angry eidelons.....

If the deadites aren't going to be Malathian again, it might be nice for
there to be a group started, so that those of us who want to play with
friends can continue to do so after our deaths. Just to throw in some OC
self interest there. ;)

It's just an idea, if no-one takes it up my next character will have the
basic philosophy anyway. :)

'fraid to say there will be no soup kitchen this event.  Mike is in hospital for an operation on his eyes a few days before the event, so won't be able to make it.  Subsequently neither will his van and therefore neither will the soup kitchen kit.

It's his birthday on the saturday so he was gonna bring cake and beer, so he's miffed to be missing it.  I'm going to bring a card so if anyone wants to give him wellwishes they can.  He's determined to get down on the sunday, but I wouldnt cound on it.  Tho it would be cool if he did as he'll be wearing a genuine eye patch!

anyway, just thought i'd let you know.  sorry!

Thanks.
Its a 75 ton slaver, so I've told her its too big, and she needs to go to another port, without mentionnnig the whole docksgotburneddownthing.
:-)
And DTs been extended a month, so that's handy.

Emma,

Nic Doran suggested I contact you - I need to get a ship into Port
Charles to pick up a bunch of men at arms who got left there rather a
lonf time ago. The ship Id is 90, captained by 1348.1. The chap who
owns them is a nice kid, but a bit fogged by downtime so I'm sorting
it for him.

Is this possible, and how soon can it be sorted? I can write IC once I
know who to write to!

Many thanks

Katie

Yes - there are no money changers in the Old World. So if it's not a Ky/Ri
nation, you'll work up a debt.

If you have any space left after taking orders, please purchase food and let
me know the cost. Winter's around the corner so a little extra can't hurt.

Hi,

I'm having difficulty buying stuff in the old world out of my own pocket.
(its allowing me to buy stuff and get in debt, presumably with RC, no problem though.)
Has anyone else had the same problem?
Is it cos I'm in a port that doesn't use riel money, is presumably lacking a money changer and so doesn't take foreign coins?

Also, a reminder, I'm not buying large amounts on spec, anyone wants anything, like food, you need to tell me before DT closes.

Thanks,

Emma.

Help.

Where's the "I want to move this ship" command?

And if anyone's put some cargo out for The Maggie to pick up, please can they tell me which port they've left it at, and where the "Load the flaming stuff onto me ship" command is?

So far I've found the ship and managed to board it, but that's it.

Thank you.

Emma.

I *think* once you're on the boat you can issue the appropriate actions.

Before that, Andy will need to give you permission to use the boat.

On the boat, before you do anything you have to pay the crew. You can either
do that with cash you have on hand or run a tab with the creditors.

At that point you should be able to sail the boat wherever you like.

But, because of the way it works, don't set sail till the hold is full of
everything you wish to take from that port (you will have actions to OK
people putting stuff on the boat or they'll just transfer it to you).
Because once you've sailed, the DT can't handle subsequently saying 'but I
wanted to put X on at port Y'.

Chazz, has the right of it - it's boats that have permission to use docks
not characters so you should be able to sail around fine.

Oh, and I wouldn't worry too much. The only thing on the other list in the
last two weeks is the grumble that Mastercraft Axe is a bit of a crap skill
choice :)

Presumable you have premission to use the boat? (check
with Pete/Andy). Presumable you have permission to
dock at the Port? (I think this is based on the boat).
Otherwise it might be a bug and worth reporting.

I can't check boat opperations as my main Captain and
ship owner did't come to the last event and has to get
a DT ticket.

You have to move to be in the same location as the
boat to board it... otherwise it dosn't appear as an
action (your start location my have reset - owfent
refered to respawning). As long as you are on board
the boat Pete/Andy can give instructions to the
boat... or you can give instructions to the boat once
your on board. Do you still have the Boat (it's not
been repossesed/sunk/captured or anything?). You might
want to metion the naughty slaves to PD too...

Hi all,

Downtime is open.

And can someone tell me how I navigate, please?

A Plea.
Please can people remember to post general stuff here, not on the Fitzes yahoo (malathia).
Some of us can't access that one anymore.
The rest of my group live over 100 miles from me, and are busy chaps with intermittent email access.
I'm very much reliant on this yahoo group to know whats happening between events, and I bet I'm not the only one.

Thanks,

Emma/Margret.

Fancy playing a LRP Event where you get fead, waterd and bunk space
all for Free?*

Burning Ambitions runs sanctioned events in the LT campaign world and
wants more monster crew to come fight and interact with it's players.
If all this apeals download the Event Flyer here
http://www.lionsfaction.co.uk/events/winter06flyer.pdf

The Widening Gyre runs from October 20th-22nd at Barnswood Scout Camp
in Cheshire.

* Given enough booking time for organisers to make sufficent arrangements.

Thanks for the summary Vince, makes things much clearer.

*puts "Getting a decent map of the colony and finding out WTF is going on" to top of "things to do next event" list.*

White Sands skirmish
Unkown unkown, seems to be part of the 'loyal vs. fallen' operations in the
west of New Malathia. Fallen won.

Granite Cove skirmish
Known known - Major confortation in the 'loyal vs. fallen' operation. Loyal
won. Convincingly it would appear.

In other news, the RC did not make any moves in Kamakura. Neither did we.
Looks like the line is being held there and calm heads might prevail.

Hi,

I'm also after a lift, from Watford/London, on the thursday.
Or at least from the nearest station to site.

Can offer petrol/beer money, and like Steve, don't have much kit.
Please?
:-)

Emma.
