Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Attention All Current and Past Gemstone Players!

Once again it is time for the infamous "Zharahk's Summer Picnic!"

That's right, it's the 5th Annual Zharahk Summer Picnic and this year, for the
very first time, it isn't by invitation only! Unlike in years past, space and
neighbors do not limit us. So, Come join in the fun from Friday night, July
23rd, 1999 til Sunday, July 25th in Frederick, MD! Its an annual DC happening
not to be missed!

Want to come Friday night? Sleep over into Sunday and continue the party? No
problem, we have 7 acres of space waiting to be camped and played upon! Bring
your tents, camping trailers and sleeping bags! Prefer to grab a couch or
declare a corner of the room yours? No problem, we have room. Or would you
rather bask in the comfort of a hotel? We have included a list of local hotels
at the bottom of this email.


Events Planned for Saturday include (besides seeing the friends you haven't seen
in a while, meeting that rogue you always wanted to smooch or the sorceror you
always hated IC but love OOC):

- The Pyrates Royale (http://www.pyrates.com/) infamous for their MD RenFaire
shows.

- A Traditional Southern Pig Pickin w/ da Keg-o-Beer!

- Horseshoes, Volleyball, Darts, Ping-Pong, Magic the Gather Games, and Frisbee!

- Oh yes, and most important... Old War Stories, recounted by I.C.E. agers, old
timers and newbies alike!


This event is FREE however donations of cash (to pay for the entertainment, pig
and sodas) and food are welcome! For those of you not tapping the keg, please
bring your own refreshments. Sodas however, will be provided. We also ask that
everyone sends an RSVP to picnic@... with the following
information and further details and directions will be sent to you as specifics

IMPORTANT NOTES:
CHILDREN: are welcome as long as they are supervised at all times and not
disruptive to the adults at the picnic. There is plenty of space for them to
play outside the general adult picnic area. Be warned that alcohol will be
served and "adult" songs and material will be performed in medieval fashion.

ALCOHOL: Please be advised that there will be children around so, PLEASE
DRINK RESPONSIBLY! You know this group, if you get drunk and do something
stupid, we'll NEVER, EVER let you forget it! So, to that end, if you are
deemed "under the influence" by the hosts of the party, they WILL take your
keys and force you to spend the night and sleep it off. :) And we gots lots
of burly types to back this up!
