No, I'm seeing a group of 55 Skeletons, that don't belong to me, and are
not close enough to a Necropolis to belong to a player at this stage of the
game, (I'm assuming that all player owned forces would be at most 2 squares
from a Necropolis on turn 2)
Mat
Hi Mat,
My small forces are showing on the map with the Enemy forces icon - is this
what you have too?
There don't seem to be any NPC forces on the map at the moment - I can't
remember if there used to be in the old version of the game.

Firstly we seem to have missed a turn and jumped from turn 1 to turn
3? a coding error steve or maybe just due to you running the turn
more than once after the bugs you mentioned in your last mail.
Also, the rulebook in the map section says that the owner numbers on
the map will not be visible untill turn 3 to avoid giving away the
necropolis locations, those numbers were visible on my turn 1 map.
Lastly, it seems a little pointless to only show the terrain that has
been currently explored when we saw the entire map on turn 1 - were we
supposed to see everything on turn 1 ????

Hi All,
Okay, we found loads of niggly little bugs when we ran the game, so we
haven't sent the turns out. Instead, we're going over them, fixing
the bits and pieces.
I'd expect Weds night as the likely time for the turns to come out to
you.

Greetings to the necromancers old and new.

Hi Thomas,
I know I'm a bit of a geek with info, but if he did change them, I
hope he'd do me the decent thing and publish what the old ones
actually did, so I could satisfy my curiousity from so long ago.
Quite a lot of my database is filled with ??? in the artefact
descriptions......
The thing is that I only ever found a few of the sacrifices, so many
of them I had ??? filed against them.
Anyway what's the harm with sticking with the old ones? There were
some combinations of sacrificing artefacts to get others, that no one
ever got round to attempting because the game either didn't last long
enough or I just wasn't lucky enough to get them in the first place.
So in this aspect Steve's artefact database is still as much as
mystery as it ever was.
Besides, if you are nice to my character in the game, I might share
some of my knowledge with you.... :-)
Regards
Paul

Have just spent an hour looking for the old Necromancer turns.....
Fruitless search as it turned out - I'll just have to start building my Icon
List and Sacrifice info again - but - as well as disturbing years of dust
and finding a few small items which had fallen down the back of the shelf -
I've reminded myself of 20 years of PBM games.....
St Vals, Spiral Arm, Golden Realm, Kings of Steel, Middle Earth, Fleet
Maneuvers, Dogfight....
sigh - fond memories.
I even found a booklet called "Lizards Play by Disk"
:))
Good luck in the game all!

I am relatively close to that (as the map is wraparound) but then again I am
close to almost everyone.
But still would like to come to some arrangement.
But its never a waste of minions if you win.. You can just raise them again

Okay, guys. I want to encourage everyone to report bugs like this, but
**please** try and give clear info.
You didn't say exactly what you meant. But having looked at your turn I
think you mean that in the specific Necropolis Section the necropolis is
shown with the coordinates the wrong way around. That's cool, Ill correct
that.
If you check the Map Key, though, you'll see its the correct way around
there.
Enjoy!

Look likes it all worked Steve
Now to start moaning <grin>. (and no I am not talking about the Zombies)
According to the message on the front of the first turn you have
changed the way orders are writted which is fine and probably a good
move. Just that the location of your Necropolis is in the old way
still....

The plan is to start the test game this weekend, as long as the setup goes
okay. it may be that as soon as we start putting players into the game it
all crashes. Wouldnt be the first time. <g> Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the reminder Paul - all my old Necromancer stuff must be around

Hi Steve,
The first game apparently has its full quota of volunteers, so does
this mean the game can start now? And if so, when do you anticipate the
first turn being sent out please?
Now I've just got to go and try and dig out my old database of
Necromancer artefacts.....
Regards
Paul
You did?
Bum
My apologies for not remembering that.

Im working on the new PDF version of the rules and will get them up as soon

Not as dramatic as I'd hoped. Given that the game is free you'd have
thought we'd be able to fill a single game... <sigh>.... ah well, we'll see
what some more advertising can do.
As for visitors to the shop. We have flyers and posters everywhere. We
always try and recruit people. We've got about 25 new DW players that way
and a fair few Lizards players, so who knows?

we get rolling.

Hi all,
Wow - not even sure that these message groups existed the last time I
played Necro - progress!

Lets hope enough people want to give the new version of the game a try.

I ought not to be the first one posting here, but hey well.
I remember the old Necromancer paper games and winning quite a few too,
so will wait to see what these ones will be like, my only past regret
from the old games was that we never did get to investigate what a lot
of the higher summons did or some of the artefacts actually were.
Lots of speculation, but never any answers.
