Lone Wolf to be Republished!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #492 of 518 |

As threepwud stated earlier (in the "Happy Bank Holiday" thread), the
Lone Wolf series is going to be republished, starting July 31. The
company spearheading the republication is Mongoose Publishing, the same
company that helped bring Magnamund to d20.

I first received word about the republication when, quite suddenly, the
old (and presumably inactive) kaiwisdom emailing list I signed up for
years ago became active again.

The entire series is going to be revamped, with at least one gamebook
(Flight from the Dark, which comes out July 31) being expanded. Flight
from the Dark will now have 450 sections/pages and will open with (as
threepwud already stated) Silent Wolf fighting alongside his brethren
during the Darklord attack on the Kai Monastery. Other changes are to
include the Tarnelin (I think I spelled it right) Tunnel "glitch," in
which the only way to finish book 1 is to have either Animal Kinship or
the Magic Spear.

Each gamebook will be re-released in hardcover "Collector's Edition"
format, although I hope they are eventually released in softcover. And
(again, as threepwud already stated) Joe will finally get the chance to
complete the series.

There will be some new Lone Wolf novels being released, as well, though
I'm not sure if any novels will be re-published.

Mongoose Publishing is also offering a "Magnamund Mega Deal," in which
fans can purchase the entire series for $599 in advance. The deal
includes shipping charge reimbursement, free collector's edition novels
of the Agarashi and Lencian trilogies, and purchasers will receive the
never-published books 29 through 32 at least four months before they hit
stores.

Speaking of stores, I'm not sure where the gamebooks are being released.
Because of this, it's possible that some of us will have to purchase the
books directly from Mongoose Publishing.
