"A Scarlet Sunrise" - a Warcraft 3.5 D&D game starting up!
That's right, ladies, gentlemen and sideshow freaks, whichever you class
yourself under. A brand spankin' new Warcraft d20 campaign over the internets
(all of them at once) is starting up. Taking place at 7pm GMT (that's 2pm for US
East coast) on Tuesdays, on irc.sorcery.net in channel #scarlet. No bot dice
just yet, but we're working on it. And, to spice things up a bit, here's a
little pasta a la copy from the introduction:"Tyr's Hand is somewhat livelier
than usual. The western gates stand open and the marketplace near the center of
the city is fairly active - though paling in size when compared to the markets
of the massive metropolis of Stormwind, it is, by Plaguelands standard,
bustling. More civilians than before have come from the Enclave secured tightly
behind the unbreachable walls of Tyr's Hand itself, to market their wares the
best they could in the conditions of the martial law. Laughter and life prevail
over gloom and darkness most everywhere within the city.
And there's a reason for that. The Scourge patrols grow shorter and shorter,
while the Scarlets become bolder. Just as winter gives way to spring, so does
the host of undeath to the Scarlet Crusade. Though the Plaguewood is still in
Scourge's firm grasp and the ruins of Corin's Crossing and Andorhal is packed
full of undead to the point of bursting, tables are slowly, but surely beginning
to turn. Still after all this time, Baron Rivendare has failed to evict the
Crimson Legion from his own stolen capital of Stratholme. Attack after attack
against the Monastery has been foiled and the assaults against Hearthglen and
Tyr's Hand have not only failed, but have been repelled with enough force to
create a more or less safe zone around those cities. Most everybody knows that
the war is far from won, but things are looking up and there is more hope than
ever before.Â
Yet... the higher the ranks in the Crusade, the less joy and happiness one can
see. The brass is serious and acts with a sort of barely hidden anxiety. The
Scarlet Oracle, Demetria, is barely ever seen, and then only in the company of
High General Abbendis when attending the weekly sermons. Abbendis herself stays
in the stronghold, accompanied by the rest of the leaders in Tyr's Hand... it is
as if they expect some great calamity to strike at any moment."
The game'll be Scarlet-themed and starting out a point in timeline that'd be a
few years ago in w0w, before the arrival of Naxxramas to the Plaguelands.
There'll be changes here and there in the storyline, triply so when the PCs come
in obviously, and the game won't solely take place in the Plaguelands. The whole
thing would be starting out at second level and need two to four players in
addition to the two I already have. A healer would be nice, but otherwise, it's
your call what you make. I'm not forcing any group compositions on the
players.So, the tl;dr version:What? Scarlet-themed Warcraft D&D 3.5
campaign.When? Tuesdays at 7 pm GMT.Where? irc.sorcery.not #scarletHow many? 2
to 4See you when I do, if I do, and I hope I do.Jet.
