Mike:
I wanted you to know that my hiatus from the Friday game may go on
longer than expected. I had a hard-drive failure on my computer at
home which I think I've mentioned before. The good news is that I've
installed a spiffy new hard-drive but (and here's the big "aw,
man...") the bad news is my anti-virus program isn't letting me
update anymore. So, internet at my house is a no-no until I get my
new AV software in. I should be getting my new copy of the software
in a couple of weeks. This is all likely for the best as my old anti-
virus software was over 4 years old and *really* needed an update.

At this time, I'm keeping up with things online via work (on my
breaks) and using the computers at school (which is where I am right
now). My computer at home is running, but I positively won't use it
to surf the net unless I have virus protection.

Please feel free to use and abuse my character as you see fit,
including Serama, the sidekick. As I said before, I'll be keeping up
as I can via the writeups on this thread. I trust you guys to do
what's in the best interest of the story. I look forward to coming
back later this month. Sorry about the inconvenience. This is a bad
time for this to happen, but it's something that needs/needed to be
done.

Scott

HP spends for last week: +1 to Love Alitia and Loved By Alitia. +1
to Friends with Old Unit, +1 to Leadership (learning to listen to
his friends and followers and letting them guide when it is
appropriate).

I've updated and reloaded his character sheet to the Indy Group
Files section.

Also, I know Mike said Alitia looked like Xena, but I always
pictured her as something closer to this: http://www.brand-
publications.spaceanddeath.com/Alitia.jpg

Finally: If you don't have a .pdf character sheet in the Shadow
World HQ file, its because I don't have the final version of your
stats yet. If you're in the game and want one, email me your stats
and any links to pictures or ideas for pictures, and I'll make you
one.

Everybody else seems to have added a haiku as a contribution to this

...Just my two cents on how to make it more typical (TECHNICALLY, the
japanese count nasal consonants a sylables, so the english understanding
of syllabification as it pertaints to haiku is flawed, but that's just
he linguist in me getting silly):

The perfect fighter

Finally decided to break down and begin an online indie game. I have
Chosen Paladin for it's simplicity (and because I like it). I will be
using the canonical Sword of Heaven setting. I have excerpted some
pages dealing with the setting and with basic character creation,
these are availble in the group file section.

As for myself I have extensive experience running F2F games and a
playing freeform MUSH's ,this will be my first attempt at running a
PnP RPG online.

With that in mind I would like to solicit players, please email me
about your interest and availability. Also send in advance any
characters you have created for the game for examination and approval.

Thanx in advance and hope to be hearing from you soon for plenty of
online fun.

Yeah, I had some really pressurizing bangs for everybody that were based off
of Lhan being around. So do let us know when you're going to play again.

Good stuff. The blade drank blood not too long ago. Sure you don't want to
pump it up at all? Also, your feelings about your brother? About Sorcerers?

>Also, I know Mike said Alitia looked like Xena,

That was just gross shorthand, to get the quick idea across. I wanted to
give the impression that she was tall - she's probably at least six feet
tall. Few Amazons are shorter, and she doesn't strike me as the smallest of
them. From the picture I take it that it's OK to make her just as totally an
asskicker as I wanted to?

Neat. We'll make that her official appearance with Chris's consent - he does
have some stake in this now. Chris, cool?

Hmmm. Any chance you could send JPG versions to me, Brand? I do everything
on the computer (I wish I had a screen version of the book), and the print
versions you have are unweildy on screen. I just need something at 72 dpi
for easy handling and reference. Any chance?

I did the episode after it drank blood -- it went up to 4w from 3w.

The Sorcerer he left alive, but only beause a girl was in danger --
so no real change. His brother will probably get a big bump soon,
but it hasn't happened yet. (I'm saving a HP or two for when it
happens in game.)

OK, OK. I'm just worried that I'm not putting enough stuff out there for you
guys to attach to. You're all accumulating big piles of HP. I'm probably
giving out too many for the amount of action that's occuring. But I really

LOL. I'm a statistician. You're experiencing an over-reaction to what is
actually a not too statistically improbable set of events. You aren't
required to bump, that's your choice. Failure is a fun option, one that you
should consider more often. :-)

from the other game.

Anyhoo, if you want to discuss it further, I'm encouraging people to join

So, I picked this up on the cheap a few days ago, and I'm pretty
amused by it. It does the monster-catching-battling thing better than
BESM/Seizure Monsters, and I think the subject matter (cthulhuoid
beasties) is more appealing to the ING folk than the source
(saccharinely-cute cuddlies).

Play goes something like this:

Create your Trainer kid, of an age between 5 and 16. then pick some
scores for things like Trash Talking, Education, and some other odds
and ends. Grade Level is dependant on age.

Anytime you need to roll, you roll either 1, 2, or 3 dice, depending
on whether it's stupidly hard or just kinda tricky (hard = 1 die,
kinda tricky = 3 dice), and try and roll under one of your applicable
stats.

Your little monster buddies have Lovecraftian-appropriate Types (as
opposed to the Pokemon standards of Grass, Fighting, Ghost, et
cetera, it's more like Non-Euclidian or Slimy or Undead, and so on).

Then the trainers take their beasties and go beat up other beasties.
The "dungeons" are more likely a 2 storey house or small forest than
a 30-level crypt. Still plenty of battlin', that's the goal.

Anyway, not a lot of -deep- gameplay, but if 2 or 3 people wanna give
