With the recent disappearance of Witness1 and the original Hunter-Net.org, I
decided to
start this list as a replacement. The list is unmoderated (I won't block or edit
messages),
but I am capable of banning people for egregious crimes. Don't make me use it.

A Brief Orientation

The message archive (available at the eGroups website) is for OOC purposes only.
Hunter
characters using the web interface IC should restrict their replies to the last
screen shown.
And remember, while many characters do it, saving messages from the List is
considered an
IC mistake.

The chat room is open to all list subscribers; use the calendar to schedule a
private block
of time if you need to, or any other event that might be of interest to the
List.

The Database contains a couple of lists of interest, most particularly a Hall of
Honor and
a list of the Protectorates.

Feel free to download any of the files in the File area. Most of these are the
regular
automated mailings, and many are also available as web pages. See the Links
pages. Of particular importance are Welcome.txt (this file) and the Danger List
FAQ. You might want to also pay attention to Ban.txt.

Rules of Conduct

1. Do not reveal yourself (or anybody else's) identity or location on the List.
Revealing someone else's identity or location is cause for immediate banning.

2. No OOC Threats or OOC Flame Wars
Any poster threatening another poster OOC will be banned.
Any posters engaging in OOC flame wars will receive two warnings, one private,
one public.
After the second warning, the flaming posters continued presence will be judged
on a case-
by-case basis.

Advice

A. Be polite.

B. Hunter Net List is a way for us to learn from one another.
Don't just tell us a story, tell us what you learned. It can be a technique for
the Hunt,
a piece of wisdom, a bit of information about the supernaturals.

C. Don't be a lurker.
The more who contribute, the more we learn.

D. Use what you learn.
Don't just sit here on the List reading, do something to help other Hunters, or
stop the
supers.

E. Don't Flame
While IC flame wars are tolerated, please don't. Nobody likes reading them and
they just
consume useful bandwith. If you must flame, do it in private, off the List.

F. Don't threaten another hunter
Threats really don't do much. This is the Net, so any threats are most just
offensive
bluster. And, considering the trouble we're in, all threats do is divide us, and
make
Hunter take side against Hunter. The only ones who win that fight are the Enemy.
Feel free to say you won't work with another Hunter, or call them your enemy. Or
even
submit them to the Danger List. Or even consider it a challenge to express your
true
feelings for the other Hunter without ever actually threatening them.

real life
is purely coincidental. THIS IS A GAME.
