Summary: Types of characters that are wanted are discussed. They include --
types from 'news char restricted', Features including Colin, Padma,
and
Weasleys particularly, teachers, Hufflepuffs, eccentrics, Ministry
workers, others. Also discussed are pureblood connections and Pixie's
family tree project.

Announcement: Tengu shouts "The OOC Seminar is beginning momentarily. Type
+ooc, mr to get there. Or +watch/on ooc-mr if you're in the middle of rp.
We'll be discussing types of characters people want. So come market your
NPC siblings, or come for character ideas."

Tengu says "Okay. I'm going to be logging this to post on the website. Because
most of it will probably remain relevant for a while."

Tengu says "This Seminar is on Wanted Characters. All sorts of characters that
players and the admins would like to see played. So I'll start off with a
little bit about how to find someone to play a character for you. Then I'll
mention some things the Admins are looking for. Then I'll open it up for
others to say what they want."

Cecily sneaks in and steals some popcorn.

Tengu says "The main spot to advertise you're looking for something is the
Wanted +bboard, +bboard 5. If you want someone to play your brother,
sister, Great Aunt Fanny, that's the place to do it. Give as many details
as you think are relevant, tell them how to contact you. New, unapproved
players can also use this board."

Tengu says "If you read something there and it sparks even a little bit of
interest in you, I urge you to contact the person to talk about it. Maybe
the role is even cooler than you thought."

Tengu says "If you're ever wanting to create a new character, but keep your
alts secret, you can create a throwaway character to page and +mail the
relevant parties. This is especially helpful if you're applying for a
Feature character."

Tengu says "Any question on the bboard, or how to find a player, etc?"

Dougal says "Hey, punchingbag~"

Dougal sits on Vivi.

Sirius says "Why aren't you this funny IC, Harry?"

Harry says "ICly, I am a little thick in the head."

Hagrid none here.

Dougal says "He is. Funneh lookin'."

Viviane will not be topped by Dougal

Tengu says "If you're looking to fill a niche on the game, you can use
+census. And use the various rosters to get an idea of what characters
already exist and try to figure out where there might be a type missing."

Dougal says "That's not what you said... uh. N'mind."

Tengu says "Now I'll talk a little bit about what the Admins are looking for.
The other Admins can chime in. We're always, always interested in seeing
the Features cast. So if you've been pondering one, jump right in and do
it."

Harry says "I'd like to chime in and plea for my old Gryffindor chums. Dean
and Seamus would be nice, but especially Neville."

Dougal says "You just want a posse so you can go around beating up little
kids."

Harry says "Pretty much."

Chimaera says "I'd love to see more teachers! We have a lot of fun classes,
particularly with the current school split. Have a hankering to teach
Potions, but don't want to wait for one or both Snapes to keel over? Teach
it at Poudlard!"

Dougal says "My caring is exponential, I assure."

Tengu says "We're also always looking for teachers. Right now with the two
schools, there are a lot of available slots, including in professions that
are normally monopolized by the FCs. You can type +hfaculty and +pfaculty.
Anyone listed as NPC can be applied for. Any class not listed is probably
completely free for you to make up who the teacher is."

Dougal would try and app a teacher, if he had the discipline for it. >.> It'd
be cool to have more.

Dougal says "It'd be fun to have more professional quidditch players, but I
imagine that ties in well enough with the school games."

Chimaera says "If you have questions or concerns that are preventing you from
applying for a teacher slot, I'd be thrilled to answer them. Bother me
after the seminar. :)"

Dougal shiftyeyes at Harry, "/Good/ players."

Tengu says "Anyway.. oh, we also /will/ consider things on 'news
char restricted'. And frankly would like to see some of them. They're only
restricted so that we don't spend a lot of time working with a newbie to
get the idea to make sense only to have them idle out on us."

Bard resists the urge to promote her class at the moment.

Tengu says "Though I will say that Metamorphmagi.. is probably not happening.
It would have to be a really /good/ app. :)"

Dougal says "It'd be nice to have some weirdos around, is what you're saying?
:P"

Dougal says "...I mean. Weirder than us."

Echidna says "Some of them would be so much fun."

Dougal wouldn't mind trying to app a centaur some day, though I'm not sure if
that's even on the list. Just to RP them talking. XD

Hagrid says "I certainly wouldn't mind having a centaur to bum around with,
but aside from myself, I don't know who would have regular contact with
them. :)"

Dougal shrugs. Like I said. Just to have them talk. At all. To anyone.

Dougal says "'Welcome to Starbucks. What will you have today?' 'The moon is
round and lively.' '...>.>;'"

Tengu says "Someone in the Ministry could have contact with the centaurs. But
yea, probably a bit limited."

Celestina giggles at Dougal!

Dougal says "Moon: Yo."

Echidna giggles.

Chimaera says "Regarding things on the restricted list, more Ministry folk
would be great. Including, but not limited to, Aurors and Unspeakables. :)"

Dougal wouldn't mind creating some sort of other character, especially with
Dougal about to graduate and go off... somewhere... adult-like.

Tengu says "And we'd like to see more Hufflepuffs. :)"

Dougal pets the Heffalumps.

Tengu says "Did the Admins have anything else to add? I didn't."

Celestina roots for her house. Hufflepuffs rock! :D

Lila says "Yea they do."

Chimaera says "Yes, definitely more Hufflepuffs! Check out +census and pity
the Badgers. :)"

Dougal says "Hufflepuffs got the mojo... though you didn't hear it from me."

Echidna says "Um... I think you covered it, Tengu. :)"

Dougal coughcoughs. Hate you all. Die. Etc.

Cecily pinches Dougal's cheeks.

Dougal bites off Cecily's fingers. :D

Tengu says "Anyway, that's it for the Admins. Anyone else can now ask for what
they want. And if people have questions for them, or for us on any of those
characters we wanted, fire away."

Parvati says "If the admin types are done, I want to put out a Wanted sign for
Padma Patil and Lavender Brown. Be Padma! You can be a feature /and/ a
twin! :)"

Dougal is curious as to whether or not teachers have any set limitations? If
that's what you meant about asking. I mean a certain number of classes a
month, etc.

Parvati says "Or, you know, be Lavender and provide me with a best friend and
flatmate. :)"

Tengu will let Chi answer that, Dougal. :)

Dougal clings to Chi's leg.

Tengu says "What are Padma and Lavender doing now?"

Dougal says "Booty dancing."

Dougal hushes. :P

Harry says "I would like some OC people to pal around with. To actually become
real friends with, not just run into at a restaurant or something. Could be
neighborly folks, fellow Quidditch players, etc."

Dougal says "Lonely, Har?"

Chimaera says "I have a growth. o.O We ask that teachers try to hold one class
a month for each level they teach. While this sounds like a lot, we don't
have enough student characters to hold classes for individual years. So if
you're teaching a 6-7 year class, that's one class a month. And in some
cases there are very few students in that year, so holding a class for them
each month is a little silly."

Harry sniffles.

Chimaera says "So basically, it's pretty flexible. :)"

Dougal will be your friend! :D

Dougal says "Here, have a cookie. >D"

Dougal says "That doesn't sound too bad at all, really."

Harry says "Score."

Dougal sits and ponders.

Dougal notes, as an aside to Harry, that not even other Slytherins will take
my baked goods. Well, they did once. It was fascinating.

Parvati says "Padma is working as a model for Nox clothing, Lavender is doing
something vague and Divinatory and living with Parvati. I've purposefully
left them pretty open. :)"

Tengu says "And of course teachers get winter holidays and summer off. :)"

Dougal says "Lavendar is secretly Miss Cleo."

Dougal says "Score. :P"

Celestina would like some witches closer to her age that she went to school
with. So that they could go out, and have fizzy pink drinks, and fall over
the bar complaining about men and then do The Walk of Shame. :D

Dougal ponders.

Sally trolls for some IC brothers. (+oocinfo Sally for the gory details) I'd
*really* like to get a PC for Simon Binks right now, as he's the only one
currently in school. And Sam's an adult so...he could be friends with you
old people.

Parvati laughs. "And you know, if you want to take either character in a
totally different direction, I'm totally cool with that. :) I just want
them around."

Banner says "Do I hear anyone for Odette Warbeck? Huh, huh? We've got three of
the Warbecks as PCs now, need another older sister!"

Celestina says "Hey, we're not doing too shabby, even without her. ;)"

Dougal says "Doing? No. Looking? Omg, really."

Dougal ducks.

Celestina sticks her tongue out at Dougal.

Dougal snips it off.

Dougal puts it in a jar.

Cecily offers her family up for grabs. "I've got a younger brother at
Hogwarts, a father obsessed with snitches - the birds, not the balls - and
a mother who talks about sex on the WWN. Come on, you know you want to." :)

Dougal says "Chi? Further teacherly inquiries?"

Sirius says "I've just posted yesterday about looking for Ministry people.
Including myself and not including Umbridge, we only have 7 Ministry people
right now."

Chimaera says "If you think everyone might be interested, go ahead and ask. If
it's just you, page me. :)"

Chimaera says "No worries. :) Toombs is an admin created NPC, so he's open to
interpretation. He's a guy, he's a Ravenclaw, go for it. Vance was
previously a PC, and she's a feature, so she's a little more limited."

Dougal recovers from his ongoing stroke.

Echidna says "I think Toombs was sorta foxy. If I recall rightly."

Dougal laughs. XD

Echidna says "Youngish."

Chimaera says "If you're seriously interested in either of them, let me know.
We'll talk. :)"

Chimaera says "Right, wasn't he the Hugh Jackman of the teaching set? Or was
that someone else?"

Echidna says "No, that was him. :)"

Celestina perks at the name 'Hugh Jackman'.

Dougal grins.

Dougal says "Hugh...bert."

Celestina says "Nerdy male names are so hot. Seriously. Philopius > Jack."

Dougal says "Hugh Jackman in form-fitting black rubber X-Man suit."

Dougal pats Celestina and goes on his merry way.

Celestina fwees.

Echidna would also love to see more Ministry folks. There's so much room for
potential there.

Echidna says "It could be the adult Hogwarts if it were well-populated enough!
:)"

Dougal suggests Dealey join the Ministry after graduation. 0:>

Dougal is promptly lynched.

Bard posts signs for her estranged ex-husband Louis Baldwin and two daughters
(pre-Hogwarts age).

Sirius says "I'd particularly like to see some older Ministry folks, the
higher-ups that we can sit in meetings with."

Tengu says "Oh, another thing I'd personally like to see is some rather
eccentric folks. Like Fychan. Only clothed."

Dougal says "Aw."

Viviane says "I try!"

Dougal says "You and your clothes, Tengu."

Celestina says "Fychan is awesome."

Dougal says "Fychan rocks the party that rocks the partay."

Sirius says "I had to name my campaign manager. It's Sharma. He's somehow
related
to former Head Boy Sanjiv Sharma. I can't recall if I ever named the woman
who wrote my book. So, really, if any of you are looking to rp with Sirius,
there's lots of options."

Echidna says "Yeah, zany old folks would be cool."

Echidna says "Also, in addition to Features, we have a lot of extras available
too."

Maoliosa wonders why we don't have many players for ghosts and pictures stick
around Hogwarts.

Dougal says "Be a redshirt today!"

Echidna says "Malcolm, Marcus, Natalie, Dumbledore's portrait..."

Parvati sniffles.

Echidna says "I dunno, Mai. We've had several OC ghosts approved, but then
they just disappear."

Dougal says "Well, the portraits are rather... stationary. >.> Though the
ghosts do surprise me."

Dougal says "You'd think people would enjoy coming up through the table."

Echidna says "The portraits aren't, really. They can move to neighboring
portraits as they like."

Maoliosa says "People in paintings can move among them. Remember the pink lady
running away?"

Echidna says "Also, please remember that OC relatives of FCs are now
permitted."

Dougal says "Oh, right."

Cecily beats the alt ideas back with a stick.

Tengu says "Maybe Parvati and Padma are really triplets, only the other's a
Squib."

Hayden says "Poor Poudlard. We don't have any ghosts, I don't believe."

Paul kills Hayden. "You're now the ghost there." ;)

Hayden says "Am not! I didn't do the whole don't cross over thing."

Dougal kills Hayden twice.

Hayden sniffs and starts plotting.

Tengu says "Draco asked me to mention that he's always looking for minions.
Though why you'd want to align yourself with the MAlfoys at this point in
time, I don't know. ;)"

Celestina oohs, evil is out again this season. Nifty.

Tengu says "He's posted before. Servants, people who work at the law firm with
him, people who work for Fireteeth, friends and things like that."

Hayden is always looking for people to play her siblings. "I have three, after
all."

Dougal wants a name like 'Fireteeth', dude.

Echidna says "I think most of y'all have been around for a while, so really do
consider some of the restricted things. We're willing to entertain it as
long as stuff makes sense. And.. ya never know.. maybe someone with some of
those special things is already out there among you. :)"

Tengu cues the spooky music.

Dougal clings to Tengu's head.

Tengu says "Ack."

Dougal says "I'm scared - hold me. ;-;"

Celestina snugs Dougal.

Tengu checks his list. Let's see. Oh. Weasleys. We did have more, but right
now we're down to... 4?

Dougal says "Give them a few days. I'm sure more'll crop up. 0:>"

Echidna says "They're like bunnies."

Cecily snickers.

Dougal says "Only... redder."

Echidna says "More speckledy."

Dougal says "More fun to dissect."

Dougal says "Er... I mean. Y'know. Less fluffy."

Dougal coughs.

Tengu says "Bill's off in Egypt, but can come back at any time. Charlie is
working as Groundskeeper at Hogwarts at the moment. Percy is at the
Ministry. Fred in particular would be good.. George has been alone too
long. He's gone a bit strange. Fred's a beater for Puddlemere and he owns a
building in Knockturn. ARthur is Muggle Studies prof. And.. is that all of
them? :)"

Banner says "Has anyone played Charlie or Bill before?"

Echidna says "Bill, yes."

Dougal thinks someone did - yeah.

Echidna says "Percy and Arthur had players fairly recently. Fred did a long
time ago."

Tengu says "Bill had 1 player. Charlie's never had one. Percy's had.. one?
Fred's had.. 2 or 3.. but mostly he hasn't had one. Arthur's had.. one?"

Dougal had thought of trying to app for Fred, once, but has a weakness for
Weasleys, and found it a little disturbing to play Fred while being lovey
for his brother.

Dougal says "What about Molly?"

Tengu says "Fred's pretty straight. He's been off and on and whatnot with
Angelina for awhile."

Tengu says "Molly has a player."

Dougal mmkays.

Tengu says "Feel free to force her to rp more."

Dougal says "Yes. Because I am such a sweeping power in the MU."

Banner says "Arthur would be fun but I think I read somewhere that in order to
play a Professor character you've had to attend at least one class event,
is that right?"

Echidna says "That is correct, yes."

Echidna says "Someone should schedule a class you can go to. :)"

Dougal does the whipcrack sound effect for Echidna.

Banner cast his vote for which teacher he would like to see a class run for.

Tengu says "While we're on the topic.. I posted asking people to vote for
classes they wanted to attend. +bbread 5/9"

Tengu doesn't have a lot of votes yet, so it's hard to see where the most
interest lies.

Banner nods.

Tengu will schedule something probably later tonight. Probably for late
Feb/early March.

Tengu says "I was also asked to plug Colin. Ginny and Dennis both want him.
Just not in the same way."

Dougal laughs!

Parvati's brain crashes at the image that conjures up.

Echidna says "There are also some Prefect and NPC Quidditch positions
available. If you apply for the latter before the first game, you'll get to
choose their name yourself."

Tengu says "He's been said to be a photographer for a sexy magazine, but
Dennis might've been lying. I believe they're living together in London."

Paul waves the Slytherin Quidditch sign?

Banner says "Which one is which? Is Colin the older one or the younger one?"

Tengu says "He's older by.. 2 years, I think."

Paul says "Two years, yes."

Tengu says "I could see him working for Luna Lovegood's father's paper."

Harry says "Oh, someone please app Luna. And Tonks!"

Tengu says "After what I said about Metamorphmagi, Harry? :)"

Harry says "Yep."

Viviane says "Luna would be a great addition"

Tengu says "I personally think it would be interesting to have more oc
relatives of features at Hogwarts. We can't expect Harry and the Weasleys
to start spawning the next crop of students quite yet. :)"

Paul says "You mean they aren't rabbits? ;)"

Echidna says "More inter-related pureblood characters would be good. We know
there's a limited number of families, so people with connections to
existing purebloods would be much appreciated. Rather than just introducing
new pureblood lines."

Dougal licks the Zabinis.

Celestina oohs, who can we be related to? I love playing Connect the Dots.

Parvati cracks up laughing at connect the dots.

Dougal says "Those're the Weasleys, Cel."

Celestina laughs!

Mycroft appears.

Tengu says "Pixie's been working on the pureblood stuff. So.. here she is. :)"

Dougal says "Hiii."

Pixie gets home finally. Whee.

Celestina waves to Pixie. :)

Mycroft says "I'm guessing I missed a whole lot? ^^"

Pixie says "Anyhow, waaaaaay back long ago, 2 or 3 Lucius players ago,
Lucius's player at the time had volunteered to put together geneaological
information for the game. Unfortunately, the player got busy RL and idled
out before they could do much with it. However, I've taken what of it we
had (and I don't know if that's all of it or not) and put it together."

Pixie says "So, if anyone wants to take a look at what is currently done, you
can sneak a peek at http://www.tribalpages.com/tribes/hpmush"

Pixie says "Be aware that this site is kind of primitive -- they don't let you
specify any relationship other than marriage or child, so some people who
are engaged or just involved are showing up there as married. Which they
aren't. :)"

Celestina says "That is so cool."

Dougal says "Weasley and Black are related?"

Pixie has the /real/ file (for the Family Tree Maker program) which we'll put
up on the website if people want to borrow it. And instructions on how to
get yourself added will be forthcoming as soon as I get off my duff and
write it up.

Pixie says "Canonically, Dougal, yes. :)"

Dougal says "...I bet that made dating Ginny REALLY weird."

Celestina so needs to get the Warbecks related to someone so they can be added
to the pretty shiny program thingie. Ahem.

Dougal thinks the Darrays may be trying to show up the Weasleys...

Banner says "My mom has Family Tree Maker!"

Celestina should ask her aunt. She's the geneology person.

Pixie says "Absolutely! Because we've always thought and JKR has made clear in
book 5, the old pureblooded families are really very very interbred. Not
all first cousins, but second, third and fourth, heck yeah. So if you want
to talk to FCs or OCs and figure out where you can stick a relative in so
you branch off of the main tree -- we'd love you to do that."

Pixie says "We're going to be working on a policy to try and limit the number
of 'new' pureblood families that are made, so in the future, you may need
to do this. So we want to set it up so it'll be quite easy to do. But I'm
getting ahead of myself. For right now, if you have new info to go into the
tree, just +mail admins with as much detail as you can come up with. And
remember that the tree is OOC information. ;)"

Tengu says "You can use the Wanted bboard to try to find a pureblood tie too."

Pixie says "Anyhow, that's my bit. :)"

Pixie nodnods.

Tengu says "Anyone have anyone else they wanted to plug? Or anything they
wanted to ask questions about?"

Tengu says "You're all going to run out and make an alt, right? ;)"

Hagrid is cool.

Sirius says "We all know that, Hagrid."

Dougal imagines the coat makes him quite warm, really.

Dougal is working on his right now. :P

Lucy just wanted to put in another plug for her relative Martin. He's up on
the wanted board. I didn't put up all the info about him in the post, so if
you're interested, I can give people more.

Tengu says "Anyone else? Going once.. going twice.. :)"
