If I ever got the chance to run a comic book compnay here are some of the things
I would do.

1) No secret hidden lands or civilizations like the Inhumans.
2) Only one if any aliens would be around on Earth.
3) Extremely limited time travel. One character max could be from another time.
4) Time would pass nearly all characters would age and die.
5) Super Villians would come first and then later superheroes would arrive to do
battle.
6) Hero or villian if there is a body then your dead and you stay dead.
7) Heroes would grow and change gaining more power or even new ones.
8) Super science would be around but not massed produced.
9) Super villians and heroes are a recent developement.
10) Some limited real world events would be incorporated into the stories. Like
the 2 current US wars and other things as well.
11) Side kicks would in some cases replace aging heroes.
12) Organizations like Hydra Aim and others would exist in my universe. However
they would be armed with modern weapons not blaster rifles.
13) No mythic godlike characters allowed! So no Thor!
14) Magic would exist and this would allow for dimensional travel story lines.
Magical artifacts wizards both good and bad.
15) Some characters would be aimed at younger readers and stories would
encourage such things as working hard setting goals taking vitamins brushing
your teeth and the like.

Non super hero comics would include at least one fantasy title and one space
saga. Plus some nasty horror comics. Some of these might be licensed products
or created universes out side the super hero one.
