To help your player character super hero crime fighter come to life and be more
then one dimensional. You need to have lots of NPC's to interact with. Not just
the vile villians your game master creates but also normal folks. Take the
Amazing Spiderman for example. He has loads of NPC's around him all the time
First is family Aunt May.
His neighbours and land lords have appeared in the comic's. Lots of people at
work and at the various schools he has attended over the years. For example at
the bugle we have Betty Brant, J Johna Jameson,
Robbie Robertson, and rivals Lance and Eddie Brock.
Some of his friends from High school are still around while he also makes both
new friends and enimies at University. Gwen Stacy love interest, Liz Allen,
Mary Jane Watson, Debbie Whitman, Flash Thompson, and various teachers some of
whom turn out to be villians. Some of these characters can be created by the
player others can be done by the gamemaster. Most will not need full write ups
they will just need some basic skills and personality listed. With perhaps a
bit of history to go along with the character. Even loners like Batman have a
fair sized supporting cast. I hope this helps your future games.
