RE: [Superhero GMs and RPs] Health Care!

Well if that occurred in our world it would happen that way. Unless the government of the hero has universal healthcare in which case ID is unimportant.  But more than likely any society that condones costumed vigilantism may have special provisions for preserving ids of hospitalized heroes (and probably villains who haven’t been processed by the system yet). How many times have you seen Spiderman in a hospital with his mask on?

Excessive force in a society of superheores is a comedic concept at best. Accusations from both sides would flood the courts until some law was passed defining use of powers, making such exchanges normal.

Subject: [Superhero GMs and RPs] Health Care!

Ever wonder what would happen to the Super Villian who is put into the
hospital by the over zealous hero. Well just for fun the villian might
sue the hero for using excessive force in his arrest. The villians
medical bills would all likely be covered by the State unless he had a
good insurance plan. Now reverse that and have our hero end up in the
hospital. The villian would be unmasked no question but our hero
could also be unmasked as well. His medical insurance likely would not
cover injuries sustained while performing as a super hero. The
insurance company would say you lied and never revealed that you fought
crime so sorry but we won't cover you. The state would likely step in
and cover all medical costs. If not the state then perhaps someone
else who has reason to see our hero recover. Could even be a villian.
Now onto mere mortals in Canada most accidents injuries and so on are
covered by our universal health care plan. Not so in the USA so not
only is the heroes best friend been hurt; but his insurance has run out
or they won't pay for a radical but needed operation. Now if the hero
is rich no big deal to fork over a wad of cash to pay for health
expenses. It is not just the cost of the health care think of time
lost at work. Perhaps he will even need constant care or just a new
job. But if our hero is broke like Peter Parker oh watch out.
Perhaps now is the time to try and bribe our hero. Or do a mildly
naughty task to earn some extra dough. Lastily don't forget hospital
staff some nice some mean some trying to steal blood or cell samples to
mad doctors. Well I hope this helps make your games more interesting.
