How is this for a cool idea. Skull Island lies both on this world
and in others shifting in and out of the varies planes of existance.
This is why the Island is so hard to find. It is not always where it
is suposed to be. Within the jungles and along the shores of this
Island. Is a ton of magical energy it permeates everything on the
island. The island has many secrets including the fountian of
youth. A pool of water that acts as a potion of growth. Plants with
magical properties like various stat enhancers and even granting
super powers. Numerous magical items can be found around the
island.
There are a number of ways to use Skull Island in your games. The
best time periods are during the pulp era or even the golden age of
super heroes. Of course the Island has many dangers lurking on the
island. Including native tribesman, Dinosaurs, King Kong, and many
other types of monsters. Toss in giant sized normal animals and even
insects. Now here are some basic considerations on how to use the
island. I really suggest sending the characters to the Island. I
briefly ran a pulp game in new york city. Where in the first game
session King Kong escapes and is shot down from the empire state
building. I even used footage from the 1933 movie. The game went
over really well but then died. Because I had no way to top that
senerio. Plus I did not use the rest of the secrets involing skull
Island. Which is why I added that information above. Now then not
only did the crazy director go to skull Island but so did some evil
Nazi bastards. When I redo this whole thing and start my Golden Age
of Champions. I plan on starting the game in New York and running
some episodes dealing with Nazi spies and or normal criminals. Then
after a few games I will get them jobs on the Tramp steamer. Heading
off to an undiscovered Island. Then once they arrive I will add in
evil Nazi's and traitors within the crew. Once they return to New
York Kong gets loose of course but also. So do some of the secrets
of Skull Island. So now various golden age villians and heroes begin
poping up out of the wood work. World War Two here we come!!
