Hebun Kingdom was once a legend to mortal men; the allure of finding an island ruled by gods, spirits, and other immortals was too great to ignore, but all failed. The legendary Hebun Kingdom was, at a point in time, hidden from mortal eyes.
It was an island among the clouds ruled by their God-King, Mahou, and open only to immortal kind. The city was rumored to be made entirely of golden marble; the countryside more fertile, the forests more lush, the mountains taller than any found on earth.
Though the city was full of immortals of all kinds, Mahou trusted deeply in only his personal guards, known as the Guardians of Hebun. Aside from making sure that the king was safe, the Guardians of Hebun kept the land secured from evil... specifically, they guarded the gate in the forest sanctuary that withheld a powerful demon known as Sanga.
Inevitably, Sanga broke loose of his prison and turned Hebun Kingdom to shadows. The Guardians of Hebun, lead by Mahou's right- and left-hand immortals, Zenaku (Demon of Light and Shadow) and Autumn (Spirit of Night), battled Sanga's forces for months, trying to return their kingdom to the light.
When the final battle came, Mahou was the one to make the final blow, and Hebun Kingdom was once more free from evil.
However, only a few short years after the battle, Mahou fell ill and died of a strange disease. Fearing to catch the same immortal-killing sickness, the Guardians of Hebun decided to abandon the kingdom and leave it for time to cure.
5,000 years later, Hebun Kingdom has been overrun by humans. They rule the land with a harsh tyranny that has turned the city into ice and the landscape barren, desolate, and dead.
Some Guardians of Hebun, along with other immortals, are beginning to return by freak accidents to their former land, but at a strength without a hope of rivaling even a mortal man's power. They now seek to regain their power, and reclaim their kingdom as the sanctuary for immortals that it once was.
