The End of DGN

Howdy folks.

As you've probably noticed there hasn't been a DGN in a little while now. While I would love to continue publishing, I'm just not able to keep it on a regular schedule at this point. Going through and hitting all the game sites and gathering reviews can eat up a lot of time every day and things have been so busy lately that I have not been able to keep up. Its obvious that the DGN quality that I wanted to continue from my cut-n-paste predecessors wasn't able to be met, and while I have the infrastructure set up for multiple authors and the ability to expand the staff, no one has taken me up on the offer besides my buddy Mike doing reviews and previews now and then. (And I thank him greatly for that.)

To top it off there are just so many outlets for gaming news and new capabilities like RSS feeds available to allow you to quickly scan through headlines, making the original point of DGN largely obsolete. This was backed up to me by the fact that even though its been more than a week since the last email, I haven't received a single note from anyone asking where DGN was. Either everyone's stopped playing games, or don't care about the news, or are getting it from somewhere else. Times change.

If you don't want to see DGN fade away, I will be happy to set you up and give you instructions on how to blog and publish the news via the current site, and would likely continue to contribute from time to time.

Thanks to the past editors and readers of DGN throughout all of these years. Its been an honor and a privilege to shepherd the list these past 6 months.

Dave Sanders
Chief cut-n-paster
