(The hotel lost it's Sheraton standing, but has a new manager who is working
on getting it back.)

The Siege website is updated to reflect this year's convention. It's at
http://www.cfnson.com/siege/

If anyone has contact with the local Games Workshop Outriders, Garden City
Games, Comics Books & Games etc., please have them contact Jim Birdseye if
they plan on hosting an event at the Siege. I believe that there's still
time and slots open for them to arrange to host events.

I may personally host Hellion Gaming System demos. Just got to work up the
nerve.

The Augusta Towers Hotel is the Sheraton Augusta Hotel. The addresses are
the same for both. The Sheraton is where the Siege was held last year. I

Thanks, John. I didn't know I could have posted that myself to the group
page, sorry. Most of the groups I belong to have that (and especially the
photo section) set up to only allow the moderator to post things to them.
Sorry about that.

Good idea, John.

When the Rider's closed I was able to get permission to move the kids TCG
group to the Krogers across from the Augusta Mall. We've been meeting there
ever since. Not surprisingly, they're no longer kids and we've moved on
from the "Harry Potter TCG" to the "Redemption TCG".

"Redemption" is a TCG similar to "Magic the Gathering", with a very
different theme. All of the cards are Bible-sourced. You have good and
evil characters, card enhancements, and a host of other cards. There are
local tournaments as well as state and national ones. There's more at:
http://www.redemption.com/ (home site) and http://redemptionaugusta.tk/
(local site).

We've got about 11 players in the group at present. Not very big, but
workable. The group meets at the Kroger on Wrightsboro Road across from the
Augusta Mall on Tuesday nights from 6 to 8 PM.

Hi guys and gals,
After spending the evening at Anime Alley playing Magic with my
son and nephews, I thought we needed to expand the gaming group's
purpose. Not only do we need to keep in touch with each other, we
need to let others know what's going on in this area. From other
gamers already living in the area to new soldiers just arriving at
the Fort. To do that we need to let our presence be known. I have
reworded the description on our homepage and have added a database of
gaming stores in the area along with what games they support. I just
had a brainstorm, or just a mild headache, about a second database to
list sponsored regular game nights. Tell your gaming opponents about
the group and I will come up with some cards to post at the stores.

Sorry Mike, that was a tongue in cheek joke. I had taken Christopher
to Book Exchange for Magic cards and saw that they were having 40k on
Monday night. Took him back as a surprise and saw some of the old
crowd. Just a coincidence.

It was so great to see everyone at the Book Exchange Monday night. I
counted at LEAST 6 Rider's regulars. Don't forget to let all your
new opponents know about this group. It still can be a way to set up
games but can also be a way for new military guys to find out about

My 14 year old son is coming down for the summer and THINKS he knows
how to play Magic. Do any of the stores have pick up type games
where he can learn the correct way to play? I gave all of Dan's
cards back and sold what few singles I had acquired at the last
Seige. I guess I also need to buy a deck and learn myself.

I think it would be for the best that we move to the corruption server. I hear a lot of bad things about Entropy, mostly that it is becoming the new War server. People all they do all day long is PK

That is not the kind of world I want to live in. I don't think you guys want to either. We already have an established guild over there and the maint on buildings is cut in half over there. We are going to join the nation that DMH is in just to leach off them for a montha dn make some cash, then we will rebuild Nachtholm. I have found a sweet spot right by a nice R6 spawn. I have got to go for now though. If you guys have any questions, you can all call me at (706) 3647950. Call around noon my time and I should be home. I have got to get to bed. I am beat. Hello!

This is Mike Morkve and we are starting a 500 point 40k league at the
Augusta Book Exchange in their Southgate store. Sign-up is all next
week. 5 bucks to join using the army limitations published in White
Dwarf "40K in a flash" article. It will last 6 weeks and the winner
gets half the entry $ in store credit at ABX. This league is going
to put the emphasis toward painted armies and fun. During the 6
weeks we will have a few terrain building/ army painting days too!!
All in all it will be a good time! Contact Paul at the ABX South on
Gordon Hwy after Monday Jan 19,2004 for more details.

Nice seeing people at the Siege!
Tell all your friends to come play!
Monday night 40K ABX Sth after 6:00 PM!
