Re: [gamers4christ] It's been a long time.

I just realized I never answered this:

Games: Mostly doing mmorpgs these days.  Eve Online and World of Warcrack.  But I've been so busy that sometimes I wonder why I lose sleep to play. =P

I also used to play Vampire LARP with DBS and the Camarilla, played in Calinda's PBEM Hunter Game and played a little of everything just depending on what friends were doing.  Favorite was always a tie between VLARP and Garou LARP but-- LARP takes a heck of a lot of time to do right.

My favorite verse is probably the only one I ever seem to be able to memorize-- for some reason I have a horrible memory for verses.

Proverbs 3:5- Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not upon your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall set your path straight.

It's simple and sound but yet oh so incredibly hard to follow.

Is this thing on?

Hey everybody! Its me your friendly neighborhood Bobby.

Games: Im currently playing alot of Xbox 360, finished Bioshock a few days ago, and starting a nice fresh game of Mass Effect (finished it once, but what a game!)

I'm also playing in a Battletech Campaign online using a great tool called MegaMek. I also frequent a few Day of Defeat servers.

In the past I played Vampire LARP, played in Calinda's PBEM Hunter Game, some werewolf when a Vampire game wasnt available. D&D, Abberant, Shadowrun, a Cyberpunk Mod called GhostWriters, Starwars d6 and d20, gosh, about everything at one time or another.

A few years back I was converting the new vampire game to a LARP system, but that was interupted by an illness. a couple months later, after I recovered enough to look it over again, I really wansn't interested in V:LARP anymore.

My favorite verse.

I have a few that I really like here are two.

The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:17

4 The ropes of death entangled me;
      floods of destruction swept over me.
 5 The grave[a] wrapped its ropes around me;
      death laid a trap in my path.
 6 But in my distress I cried out to the Lord;
      yes, I prayed to my God for help.
   He heard me from his sanctuary;
      my cry to him reached his ears.

Psalm 18:4-6

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
Bobby

Wow...it's been a long time since we've had any posting on this
list. (Did anyone else forget it was here besides me? I honestly
thought Yahoo had deleted it a long time ago due to inactivity!)

However...let' s get the discussions going again. It'll be nice to
have a place to chat with people of like mind.

So... anyone have something to say?

*crickets chirping*

Okay...I'll start. We've got some new members since last we talked,
so maybe everyone should introduce themselves. A couple of
icebreaker questions for you, Gamers for Christ:

First, the gamer question:
What games do you play?

Next, the Christian question:
What's your favorite verse in the Bible? Or passage...doesn' t have
to be a single verse, I guess.

For myself, I play Dungeons and Dragons pretty much exclusively now.
(3.5 edition. I can't say whether 4.0 is a good system or not, since
I have not looked at it...but what I can say is I don't have a big
stack of $$$ to invest in buying a system from the ground up, so 3.5
it is!) I used to play other games, specifically Vampire: the
Masquerade and Hunter: the Reckoning, but have no time to do that
anymore.

Favorite verse in the Bible: Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a
future."

If you've got a moment, answer back...and pose your own ice-breaker
questions if you want! This should be fun. :)
