Sorry, but there is no way to "kill" the French Defense. But as a
longtime French player, I can tell you I am most uncomfortable
against the Exchange variation, because it is an open, boring game,
which I do not like. When I am white, I play 1.e4, so I face the
French. I play the King's Indian Attack, because I believe white's
d4-pawn is a big, fat, juicy target, and in the KIA, there is no d4-
pawn to hit (at least not right away).

So, for what it's worth, those are my suggestions.
