Re: [freeform_GMs] Hnnnh.

That's pretty slick, especially for games where players would be expected to
exercise a lot of narrative control. Even in a game where you would want a
player to only tell what his own character is thinking and feeling and doing, it
might make sense in several different settings for players to be able to make up
and control to an extent, the people that the PC knows.

For example, in a spy game, it would make a lot of sense for player to make up
the people who the spy normally turns to for help or information. In a
superhero game, a Batman style character should earn the player the right to
write about that character's Alfred or Lucius Fox.

I bet there are plenty of other setting ideas where it's import to have player
characters, game master characters, and something in between, characters that
aren't the heroes of the story but help the heroes and are important enough that
you would want a player to write about them instead of the GM.

A MOO I'm on uses a nice dividing line. There are PCs (obvious), NPCs, and
unPCs.

NPCs are "owned" by a player, and controlled by them somewhat exclusively,
sort of as second PCs.

unPCs are *intended* as filler, but in cases become as developed as PCs or
NPCs. Nonetheless, they remain community-owned.
