I'm coming down with the creeping crud, and the boys are just getting over it. Unfortunately, I think the Georges are no-shows at this one. Sorry to miss it!
In reference to the photos labled Shawn Morris' Designs:
I was just wondering what you were using for the base of the tiles. Are
they pre-cut when you buy them? And are they simply MDF, or are you
using an off-the-shelf tile such as Vynyl composite and the like? I'm
only asking because I had experimented with tiles in the past and
finding a suitable, cost effective tile in a workable size, was always
the issue.
Thanks for your time,
JB

too bad. Let me know if you need a ride or if I should drive down with

a day free.
Cheers

Yes, I have access here to pre-cut 12" MDF tiles. They are thick
enough that they will not warp, but light enough that they do not cost
too much to ship. Thanks for the interest.
Cheers,

Noon is when the store opens. As soon as 2 players show up after that
the first game will start. We will circulate people in as they arrive
after that. Nick Payne, Earl Holombeck, and I are setting up the
tables tonight so we will be ready for action in the AM. Drinks are
coming with me. Pizza will probably arrive around 1.
This is a very informal format, with no set number of games. The
earlier you show up the more games you are likely to play. Make sense.
For those of you who have not been there before the address is
Danger Planet Games
36 Spruce St.
Waltham, MA 02453
There are two metered parking lots adjacent to the store on spruce and
crecent streets. Parking is $1 a day.
This is going to be a very full event as we have just shy of 20 people
signed up. This may mean some people maybe playing games side by side
on a table (600s are only 3' x 4') we will try to spread folks out as
much as possible but just thought I would give you the heads up.

I would have been thier but a recent injury wont allow me to drive... wish I was going.
He he. Oh too true especially considering many of the tables we will
be using are in the basement of the store with limited air flow. Think
of it this way. It will give you the real feeling of being in a world
war two bunker with your platoon. :D
Honestly I have been a little, pleasantly surprised with the response
to this event. I was expecting a dozen at most. Cut me some slack
tomorrow guys. This is the first event in this format that I have run
so it may have some small growing pains.
See you all tomorrow,
Jason
Doug and I are unexpectedly able to go, so we'll be surprise add-ons unless someone happens to catch this email in the next hour or so. Hope there's some room!
I hope everyone had fun today. Thanks for coming down to the store. It
was great to see so many new faces. We are going to try to run an
event once a month or more. The next event will probably be a one day
midwar event, but I do not have any info on that as Joe is
coordinating that. We will also be starting up a late war league in
Feb. Details to follow in the next few days.
I will try to get the results from today posted by monday. Again
thanks to everyone for attending.
Jason
Yep 20 players showed. About half were DP regulars the other half came
from here and the FOW website. I know most of you are from far away,
but based on requests yesterday, I will be running a multi week league
at DP starting on Feb 11. The details are still a bit fuzzy as I am
working them out still, but if you want to see rules from years past
and see how the plans are developing swing by the DP forums. We will
have the plans finalized by Jan 27 and I will then post them here.

Hey, just a thought. Maybe in the future, we can have players sign in for events listing their "home base". Knowing that we can draw players from afar might help encourage sponsors!

Oh, hey, whatever you guys do to keep FoW thriving out there is great! I just wanted to let you know that DP is a bit too far of a haul for me to make it there often enough for any sort of regular play, not to mention my travel schedule for work. I'm glad to hear you've got a regular enough crowd of players to pull that off!
That is a good idea. I can identify the "home" crew for DP, do not
know where everyone else was from. That wasn't even the majority of
our crew. Our largest league was 22 people, but that was quite a while
ago. We average 10-16 people per league. Maybe for our next event I
will ask folks to sign in indicating where they are from... and of
course I would love to attend an event at another store, that way I
could play. :D I am going to try to host a one day event ever two
months or so to draw folks in from away. So keep an eye out for more
postings.
BTW Which store is on deck for the circuit in Feb?

Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now.
I'm working with Charlie (some of you met him the last time) and the Hobby Bunker in Malden, MA to setup a 1500 point late war tournament. We haven't finalized anything yet.
Also if anyone wants a big game they have the 12x6 table and I have access to a lot of terrain for it.

To say Ive been busy would be a understatement but with June looming
around the corner I thought I would Mention the the "Fall of Berlin"
event that's planned for the 28th at the same function hall (the Alpine
ridge)we did the "Up the Bloody boot" event last October in Hollis NH.
I have the center piece of the event finished the RIECHSTAG building in
15mm is very impressive and should be a lot of fun to see who gets their
first or if the day can be saved by the once mighty German army.
Ive planned a mega battle format with armies totaling 2000 points each.
And am encouraging people to team up to build that total.
Lets say you have 1500 points and your friend who you just got into
playing FOW as only 600 points well you team up, make a 2000 point list,
and your all set to take part in the days mega battle for Berlin.
Lets say you only got 1000 points and your new to FOW and dont know to
many players yet Just let me know or post a "Looking for a Ally" in this
forum and Ill help you find a partner or someone who could lend you what
you need.
I'm hoping to See cool teams of forces working together for a common
goal.
I'm also going to need some help from you the membership.
More city fight scenery is needed
If your able to help out with figures to loan.
If you can help with the set up and transportation of the tables.
If you can referee and are good with the rules
And at the end of event your willing to pick up and return the tables.
If your willing to help offset the cost of hall rental.
Or anything else I may have missed.
The events are for the membership and no profit is made on this .
Bob and I have talked and we would like to see these events turn into
club organised events so the time effort planning finances needed to do
this doesn't fall on just one or two people .
I love doing these events but would also like to focus on playing and
having fun with you guys at the gaming table so any help you might offer
is needed now this event should be alot of fun and Im looking forward to
a great time.
Thanks Gordon
I like to consider myself good with the rules so I can help reff any time.
I can also bring in some scenery that I have if need..
I think alot of NH people ( including me) went to the 600 point battle in Mass at danger planet so I would like to see some mass people at this one.
You can't complain your busy because your learning about it now, and the drive is not that bad if there is good songs on the radio or you are car pooling...
Just my input

Are there any trains that go near there? If not it's a long walk from Boston and I probably won't make it :-)
