Re: [FD] Zig Zag Rule

Actually you'd be surprised what some of the best writers in the world turn in
to editors. If those editors were game players they would tell you they do far
more than what you envision. Far more.

Avoiding unwarranted homonym replacement is hardly "being perfect"; it's

pretty basic stuff. Sure, a lot of writers are saved by editors, just as

a lot of singers are saved by autotune. But an editor shouldn't be a

proof reader, weeding out typos and erroneous word choices, but more

someone who keeps an eye on style, flow, readability and presentation,

if you ask me.

And to be back on-topic: allowing zig-zagging would alter the game

considerably, making it much easier. I could see that as an option if

you're playing with kids, but hardly if you're serious adult gamers or

F1 enthusiasts. We've got an adapted rule set that's even more difficult

than the original rules, largely because our players asked for precisely

that in this, our seventh championship season. We don't even allow

zig-zagging allong arrows in corners (which I have understood some

people do - I don't remember what the original rules say).
