Notes: "Since these flights takes place in high altitude, need to either learn
how to comfortably fly with good'ol trusty Baron or another bird. Shorts was
comfortable, but the one I have is haunted and I'm not a fan of tail-dragger.
Will fly and earn hours for DC-4 certification or something. Or, simply
persevere and perfect flying skill in Baron… nah…
The flight began uneventfully. The trusty'ol Barron flew with a little
hesitation due to the high altitude. Well, I will get use to it. I, however,
was having some issues climbing through the mountains. What? The final
altitude is 15k ft? Gee, I'll need to learn some tricks.
Baron was puffing by the time of landing after terrorizing animals and possibly
some people up in the mountains. I did have the auto-gen at around 50%, so it
was alright for now, whew.
San Rafael ATC 'Fly in RWY X'.
What??? It looks like a valley and I am suppose to slide down the sloop or
something? Since I was already very low, I suppose you expect me to slide
around the valley and rest to the runway? I've known the Baron well, I glide in
very slowly with every move double of time. Finally landed but, gee, that
really was challenging. All that said, the scenery was very nice. Next time
around, I'll have to raise the auto gen 100%."

Notes: No events. It was a very nice flight down the altitudes. Boy, 15Kft of
gap is quite tough to cope physically. It gives me an illusion of being old.
(well, I'm not old, but no way young.)

Notes: "The trip began with a smooth planning, but one calculation was slightly
off; yes, the fuel. Initial planning resulted in 10% since it's a very easy
straight, level flight, but it turns out I had left some part of planning out.
I forgot how much I started with. As a result, I had to land on a river bank
(which I'm sure the real area would be filled with trees). I was very
embarrassed to request for fuel, but decided to give in that even I occasionally
make mistake. I swallowed my pride, and got on the radio. The first thing the
ATC said sounded some king of curse, but luckily I don't' understand Spanish. I
realized I was in trouble when he said something like ""nationale...
protectiano... park..."". When I got my message crossed, I simply decided to
take the opportunity to catch with my sleep.
(Then I took role of the helo pilot with the rescue gas)
Huh... I sincerely haven't flown helo since FS5 Mako Shark or something...
Boy, let's see how I fly this...
(after a few crashes due to unstable rotor/power control)
off of a river and was rescued by an emergency chopper full of fuel. With
local's help and some staff, I took off of a riverbed. The run way was lid with
a dozen waving hand lights, and I admit it was the most human runway. I got
near 80 knots, and took off with a sudden lift; it was almost like we were
gently tossed off the ground as if the river was telling us ""get the hell out
of here, you idiot."" I've seen it on someone's FOTM, but let me repeat it.
""Make sure to calculate and fill the fuel."""

Notes: The trip was a very smooth, but getting back to Puerto Maldonado was
completely embarrassing. ATC referred me "welcome back". I got the idea he was
referring to yesterday's incident, so I quickly replied "this is the first time
stopping by, but thank you." I guess I'm not going to fly in here for a while.
I just waited to fly the next leg as soon as the bell rang.

Notes: I wish I had a backyard runway. I would have my son go nuts with his
paints and change the scheme. Well, I don't and I'd be the next target of the
hit man. So, I flew back straight in where I was greeted by several people in
suit with loosen tie.
