Hi everyone!
As you all know, I am not a politician and I have never written anything in this forum. I don't plan to ever be a chess politician. However, I would like to take this opportunity to state my feelings.
I have been living in the United States for 8 years. Even though a few people at USCF were very nice to me, I really did not want to do much with the federation. The reason for that was I was completely turned off by all the hatred, bitterness, vindictiveness and nastiness that went on.
Recently, I decided to lend my name and fully support the federation. My decision to work closely with USCF was due to 2 individuals and one of them is Frank Niro. I think he has done a very good job and I hope he continues to be healthy enough to help unite everyone for the common good. Frank gives his heart and soul to turn things around and to correct all the previous problems. It is not an easy task. I am sure it is a lot easier to criticize than to make good decisions.
Frank may not make all the perfect decisions. But the point is he "makes" decisions and so far, I agree with his actions. I have seen a drastic improvement. I urge everyone to have a change of heart and be civilized and respectful of each other. I realize that there has been years of mistrusts. But, the popularity of chess is at an all time high in America. Let's not throw it away for personal ego. Let's help the federation get back on its feet.
Thank you.
