Running clubs promotes chess in more real, more concrete manner than anything else.
John F. beats me by a mile...because he runs a bigger tourney series. But these other flash-in-the-pan events will be long forgotten.
USCF has consistently spent its time on flash-in-the-pan type events...with disatrous results...rather than do the hard work...the 5-7-10 yrs work of building its affiliate network.
When there is no place to play...why join? To watch an internet match? Be real.

How many members does your club have Eric? How many days a week does your club open Eric? How many hours a day does your club open Eric? And you think you represent America? The PCC has 130+ members and it opens 7 days a week. We have tournaments every week, at least once a week, sometimes up to 3 times a week. We run classes 7 times a week, some for children, some for adults, and some for both. Sorry to bust your bubbles but you do not represent US chess. You don't event represent the HQ anymore either, thankfully!
So far, the only time the USCF spent about 15 seconds saying yes to sanctioning the match. There is no cost to the USCF for this publicity. Why do you insist on lying again and again Eric?
