Hello.
For some time now, German players have been gathering all kinds of
information on live role playing in Germany in a wiki style repository at
http://www.larpwiki.de/.
A wiki basically is a web site that any visitor can modify. The most popular
example probably is Wikipedia (http://www.wikipedia.org/).
Tilmann Holst started the german site about seven months ago and so far we
have accumulated over 650 Topics on a wide range of LARP subjects, from
Lists of suppliers to essays on game philosophy.
One long-term goal (or should I say dream) that Tilmann mentioned fairly
early on was the idea of an international Larp wiki not unlike the
international features of Wikipedia that can be observed from
http://it.wikipedia.org/, http://de.wikipedia.org/ and so forth.
An international wiki could help LARPers to come together internationally,
exchange experiences and ideas and make contacts to play together.
This idea has gained fresh momentum from the Larp Revolution article by Ordo
Solis members but at this point, it raises more questions than answers.
First and foremost are the tasks of finding people who are willing to
participate both in technical planning and eventually in providing content
in different languages and finding out if there are projects similar to
LarpWiki.de in other countries that would be willing to participate in an
international project.
We have created an english language interim wiki to start gathering ideas
and information. If you're interested, feel free to visit
http://www.larpwiki.org/ (or http://www.lrpwiki.org/, if you prefer) and add
your comments.
Cheers, Ralf
