For those of you who are animal lovers, in the latest Eternal Sunshine
I wrote about our cat Tigger and her current health issues. I am proud
to report that her photo has been selected as one to be voted on in the
June Cat Connection photo contest. Voting is free, so please visit the
website and vote for her! She is listed as "Tigger 01" (its a photo of
her sleeping) - there are 2 other cats named Tigger in the photo
lineup, but she's the first. The link to the contest is:

Just a quick note to let you all know that today I have added a
number of back issues to my Diplomacy World website. Not only did I
scan and post the promised issues #75 and #77, but I have also added
#85 through #88 (sent to me by Dave Partridge, thanks Dave). This
means that every issue from #73 through the brand new Diplomacy World
#97 (released earlier this week) are now available for free download.

In addition, I added one other pdf file to the list. From DW #76
through DW #84 the Demo game known as "Flapjack" was published. But
after I left the Lead Editor position, the final results of that game
were never released. So now there is a pdf file which contains the
final year of the game, plus the game reprt and ALL end-game
statements from the players and commentators. If you've looked at
some of the back issues and followed the game, finally you can see
how it ends up.

All this, and more, is available on the Diplomacy section of my
website at:

http://www.whiningkentpigs.com/DW/

Meanwhile, don't forget that the easiest way to stay notified of any
new issues of Diplomacy World news is to join the Diplomacy World
Yahoo group, which can be done at:

Just uploaded to the diplomacyworld Yahoo group, you can now download

find such articles as:

* Jim O'Kelley's report on CODCon 2007

* Laurent Joly's report on his trip to the US for PrezCon

* Mark Fassio's cover story "Welcome Back Loser"

* Part 1 of the awesome Variant Roundtable, moderated by Jim Burgess

* A feature on the Diplomacy hobby in San Marino

* and MUCH more!

Take a look, and be sure to send in some feedback...as well as an
entry for the DW Photo Contest.

To download the issue, go to the diplomacyworld group, or you can get

I just wanted to post a quick message to let you all know that I am
NOT publishing the results to the first round of BPD in this coming
issue of Eternal Sunshine. I'm trying to get back in sync with the
print version of The Abyssinian Prince, and the gamestart
announcement hasn't gone out postally yet. So in order to give more
people time to join in without a penalty, I'm holding off on
releasing the results.

However, I *AM* going to have the categories for Round 2 in this new
issue. So here's the deal:

1) If you did submit orders for Round 1, you can just go ahead and
look at the categories for Round 2 when the new issue is released at
the end of the week, and send in Round 2 answers. I'll print the
results to BOTH rounds in Eternal Sunshine #5.

2) If you didn't get a chance to send in answers for Round 1, you can
send in both rounds 1 and 2 at the same time, and be completely up-to-
date.

Of course, people can join in later rounds, in which case they begin
with whatever the lowest score is out of the active players.

Remember, anybody can win, and I'll be giving a prize to the winner!
The game will last 10 rounds.

Watch for the new issue of Eternal Sunshine at the end of this week!

In the upcoming Eternal Sunshine #3, I am opening a game of By
Popular Demand. Andy York had been running one in his subzine, but
that finished up and instead he is running Scattergories.

Don't know how to play? We'll use Andy's houserules, stolen word-for-
word: The goal is to pick something that fits the category and will
be the "most popular" answer. You score points based on the number of
entries that match yours. For example, if the category is "Cats" and
the responses were 7 for Persian, 3 for Calico and 1 for Siamese,
everyone who said Persian would get 7 points, Calico 3 and the lone
Siamese would score 1 point. The cumulative total over 10 rounds will
determine the overall winner. Anyone may enter at any point, starting
with an equivalent point total of the lowest cumulative score from
the previous round. If a person misses a round, they'll receive the
minimum score from the round added to their cumulative total. And, if
you want to submit some commentary with your answers, feel free to.
The game will consist of 10 rounds. I might even offer a prize at
game end for the winner!

I hope you will all give it a try, the more the merrier! Watch here
for an announcement over the next few days, when Eternal Sunshine #3
will be released. My deadlines are out-of-sync with Jim-Bob's for
The Abyssinian Prince, but one of these days we'll get back on track.

I created this group specifically for people who read, or play in, my
Diplomacy publication Eternal Sunshine. You can find all the issues of
the subzine here, as well as any important zine updates or
announcements.

Membership in this group is restricted to those who read or participate
in the zine, and who have specifically requested membership. However,
topics are NOT restricted to only Diplomacy. I enjoy the community
feel of the old Diplomacy hobby, so feel free to talk about other
topics - movies, sports, news, personalities, games, hobby news,
memories, other zines...whatever you think is interesting!

If you'd like to join, just let me know.
