I recently changed companies and moved EDEE onto a new HP Compaq 2510p running XP SP3.  Because of the very tight security policies you can only save a game under My documents.  But then you cannot open a saved game without getting an access violations.  I would be poking around the Vista security systems.  I know this seems weird and I have mailed some screen shots to MOK.  It might be a wild goose chase, but you never know.
 
I need to experiment some more.
