I don't understand the physics of it but it seems to me that is sometimes an indication of dirty contacts. Not to say all sparking of contacts is abnormal but sometimes I'll have a circuit that is not functioning well and it will be arcing and then after I clean the contacts the flash is lower in intensity and the circuit returns to normal operation.

Robert, Make sure both sets of switches on the pop bumpers are properly adjusted and clean. Symptom sounds like dirty switches.   Dave ... From: xxxtattoo1...
