Re: [empinbalmachines] weak pop bumpers

Robert,
Make sure both sets of switches on the pop bumpers are properly adjusted and clean. Symptom sounds like dirty switches.

Hello,
This for certain will be an easy one for someone out there. On two of my machines the pop bumpers are weak, not all of them just a one on each machine. The coils are clean and move freely. I somehow think they are sort of stuttering in a way, as if they are getting really quick impulses. I have tried adjusting the end of stroke, and the sensitivity of the bumper. Is this coming from outside the pop bumper mechanism? In the stepper unit or spin relay. One of the machines (World Fair) has an alternating light, spin and score function attached to the pop bumper. The other machine (sitting pretty) has an alternating score and lamp function. But both are reacting similar.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Robert

I don't understand the physics of it but it seems to me that is sometimes an indication of dirty contacts. Not to say all sparking of contacts is abnormal but...
