..heh...
So. I bid on and won a copy of DragonRaid on eBay. I remembered
DragonRaid from its initial release, though I'd not heard anything
else about it since. I figured it was a long defunct "lost game".
Since I hadn't seen a copy in ages, and I collect Role Playing Games
in general, I snapped up that copy when I saw it, thinking it a
collector's item.
Little did I know what lurked Out There!
From the looks of what I've dug up in just a casual search on the
Internet, DragonRaid appears to be very much alive, still!
Second Edition on the way and everything!
I was...quite..."surprised".
Now, I am TOTALLY not the "target audience" for DragonRaid (I'm a
practicing Pagan with a life long love of Role Playing Games, Horror
films and Science Fiction. Legally ordained clergy in my Tradition,
to boot) but I have an odd fondness for the game.
To be brutally frank, I find it a bit pedantic and pretentious, in a
generally well-intentioned sort of way, but possessed of a
considerable cheesy charm. (Sorry. But I did say "brutally" frank.)
There is very, very little likelihood that I'll be playing it any
time soon. I would probably scream in horror and flee from the Right
Crowd for such a game, and my usual gaming circle would stare at me
in shock and horror were I to even suggest it to them. sigh.
So I figured I'd moozy on into this here Group for a bit, where I can
at least talk about DragonRaid, without anyone screaming, hopefully.
So. Um. "Hi!"
