[19:53] <Yuki`> "Then our best option would probably be to keep an eye out, but keep going instead of searching for more of them."

[20:14] <GM|> *The Kutik-Inshushinnak is the largest ship in the bay, by far.  Named for one of the early Kings of the Azure Isles, this ship is known to Raoul as one of the Kings personal ships.
[20:15] <GM|> *She is so large, she isn't docked to a port, but anchored out in the bay, with a constant stream of smaller vessels coming to and fro with supplies and personell.
[20:15] <GM|> *It isn't hard at all to find where those ships are being loaded.
[20:15] * Raoul can't help but whistle low and soft as he approaches the ferriers. He might be more experienced with smaller, faster ships, but the Kutik-Inshushinnak... There is a reason it's in the King's personal flottila.

[20:20] <GM|> *She looks at Raoul, and notes the composition of the party.  "Lord Raoul, right?  I was told the Paladins were delayed in the city, and to give you passage to the Kutik-Inshushinnak as soon as possible.  It will be a few minutes, as we are currently loading stores."
[20:21] <Raoul> "Very well. How does the ship fare? It has been... Quite some time since I last had a chance to stand on her deck." *looking at the Kutik*
[20:22] * Uileam hms again.  "Good to have royal blood, I guess.  Still doesn't make him better."
[20:22] <Nikolai> "It makes him convenient, at least."
[20:22] <GM|> "She fares well.  Her refit was delayed by the Invasion, and this is her first voyage away from home in many years.  She is stil worthy of her name."  THe dockmaster sounds quite proud.
[20:24] * Raoul smiles. "A fitting first jaunt, then - sailing for peace, having survived a war."
[20:24] <GM|> *It takes another twenty minutes or so for the current skiff to get loaded and sent away, making room for another skiff.  "This one you can board as well, we have crew waiting, and will travel with you m'Lord."
[20:24] <Uileam> (Oof, was supposed to be a thought again.  D'oh.)
[20:25] <GM|> *Indeed, even before the ship is properly moored, some men and women are already boarding, and quickly, a plank is extended.

[20:27] * Raoul waits for the plank to extend, and then hops aboard gently.

[20:33] * Raoul closes his eyes a moment, and listens to the ship move, the people bustle. He always likes that sound - preparing to set sail.
[20:34] <GM|> *The boat rocks heavilly when a barge bound for one of the other ships passes close by about halfway through your trip (about 10 minutes).
[20:34] * Yuki` keeps focusing on the bottom of the boat, and staying away from the others. She's looking a bit green.
[20:34] <GM|> *A sailor looks over at Yuki, asking her something in Azure.
[20:36] * Yuki` looks up a bit, and shakes her head. "Urk... know common... or hino or etoile." She frowns and looks back down at the boat.
[20:36] * Raoul opens his eyes, and nudges Yuki gently. "He just wanted to know if you were going to be all right."
[20:36] <Raoul> "Are you?"
[20:37] <Yuki`> "Choppy boat on my stomach.  I'll be okay.  *urk*"
[20:37] * Nikolai seems to be healthy.
[20:38] * Raoul relays as much. "<She will survive. I will keep a hand near to lean her overboard, though.>"
[20:38] <GM|> *You soon arrive at the Kutik-Inshushinnak, and some begin to climb netting over the side, while others tie the small skiff to the larger ship while waiting for a ladder to be dropped.
[20:39] <GM|> *It drops, and the crew begin to file aboard in an orderly fashion, apparently met by someone at the top.

[20:40] * Raoul waits a turn or two before climbing up. No sense rushing to get onto one of the most magnificent boats in all the kingdom's arma- screw that, up he goes.
[20:40] * Yuki` leans over for a moment... but after the boat stops, she's looking a bit better. "Okay... feeling a little better." She slowly and carefully follows.
[20:41] <GM|> *A random sailor helps Yuki up if she has difficulty.
[20:42] * Nikolai follows along, resisting the urge to teleport needlessly.
[20:42] * Yuki` won't accept it, this time.
[20:42] <GM|> *At the top, Raoul is met by an officer of the ship - an Ensign by his colours.  He appears taken back by the presence of Raoul and the others, but regains his compsure.  "Ah, and you would be?"
[20:43] <Raoul> "Raoul al-Zeid. My company should be up shortly, and we have some paladins en route as well."
[20:43] * Nikolai is up.
[20:45] <GM|> *The Ensign looks at a list in his hands, now unfazed by the presence of someone who far outranks him.  "Ah, yes.  You are expected.  I will get a crewman to alert the Prince of your arrival.  If you require refreshment before you present yourselves to him, I can arrange it."

[20:50] * Yuki` will take a small amount of water from the barrel to drink.
[20:50] * Raoul follows his escort, nodding to his companions in short farewell.
[20:51] <GM|> *The crewman looks to the three of you, and speaks in broken Reufelgan.  "Please follow me."
[20:51] * Nikolai shrugs.
[20:52] * Yuki` nods and follows.
[20:53] <GM|> *You three are led to the fore of the ship, away from the busy areas.  "This place - mediators and others.  Your rooms within."
[20:53] <Nikolai> "Hmm."
[20:54] * Yuki` nods and goes in, looking back to Nikolai. "Guess that leaves us time to...talk or something, I guess."
[20:54] <GM|> *He opens a door, and are shown into a common area.
[20:54] <GM|> *Here, you find a small contingent of robed figures, and even some people obviously from Earth by the fact of the business suits they wear.

[20:55] <Nikolai> "Hmm."
[20:55] <GM|> *One of the Earthers approaches.  "Hello!  You must be Yuki, and Nikolai and Uileam!  I'm Walter, the head representative of the US in this."
[20:55] * Nikolai resets his glasses.
[20:57] * Yuki` nods and holds out her hand. "Pleasure to meet you Walter."
[20:59] <GM|> *Walter shakes Yuki's hand quite vigerously.  "Come, come!  You must have had a long trip!  We have quarters to ourselves, thankfully!  Have you ever seen such a magnificent ship before?"
[20:59] <GM|> *Walter appears quite enthusiatic about everything.
[21:00] * Nikolai shakes Walter's hand, one eyebrow cocked.
[21:00] * Yuki` shakes her head. "No, I haven't. You said... to ourselves? You mean as a group, or the two of us assigned to one room?"
[21:01] <GM|> "Oh, no.  There's like, a dozen of us.  A couple other diplomats to observe, and our security."
[21:01] <Yuki`> "...oh, good."
[21:02] <Yuki`> "No offense meant, but I do not trust sleeping in a room with people I don't know."
[21:02] * Nikolai shrugs.
[21:02] <GM|> "Well, this ship is quite large!  Amazing it floats!  There's enough room for privacy."
[21:03] <Nikolai> "It's fairly impressive."
[21:06] <GM|> "I suppose you'll want to meet the others then?"
[21:07] <Yuki`> "Probably a good idea, yes."
[21:08] <GM|> *Walter leads you to one side of the common room, where a group of Earthers sit around a set of open windows - the salty air quite powerful.
[21:08] * Nikolai holds back a sneeze.
[21:12] <GM|> "We were all chosen by Pearson himself.  This is Rachel, the other diplomat attache. And Mark, Bill, and Graham.  We also have a marine squad with us, should they be needed."
[21:12] <Yuki`> "Hopefully they won't be."
[21:13] <GM|> "True enough.  They're being quartered with the marine compliment of this ship.  Apparently, quite a rivalry has broken out."
[21:13] * Yuki` raises an eyebrow. "Oh?"
[21:13] * Nikolai waves to the assembled diplomats.
[21:15] <GM|> "Apparently, it's a military thing.  Wagging of dicks, and all that."
[21:15] <Yuki`> "Figures."
[21:17] * Nikolai smirks.
[21:17] <GM|> "Now, tell us about yourselves.  Good to know the people we'll be working with."
[21:19] <GM|> "I'm Walter.  I'm from NYC, and joined the foreign service in '89."
[21:19] * Nikolai resets his glasses. "Nikolai Cadmus, former college student, now Time Mage and diplomat to other worlds."
[21:19] <Yuki`> "Well, I'm Yuki Matsumoto.  I'm a freelance negotiator from Hinodeumei.  ...not much to say beyond that."
[21:19] <Yuki`> "Got involved in this whole thing by sheer bad luck."
[21:20] <GM|> *The other diplomats introduce themselves.  Rachel catches Nikolai's comment about Time Magic, and exclaims "You too?"
[21:21] <GM|> *Graham makes room for Yuki to sit down.
[21:21] * Yuki` will be glad for the seat.
[21:22] * Nikolai blinks, and nods. "Yeah, I discovered a talent for it back in High School, and it's really blossomed since I came to Thera..."
[21:22] <GM|> *Rachel holds her hands together, and focuses, causing a small magical distortion to form between them.
[21:23] * Nikolai nods, and teleports to the opposite side of the room and back.
[21:23] <Nikolai> "I believe this is my favorite so far."
[21:23] <GM|> *Rachel gapes.  "Wha?  HOW?  Why can't I do that?!?!"
[21:24] <Nikolai> "... I don't know?"
[21:24] <GM|> *Graham lokks over Yuki.  "Hinodeumei?  That's across the ocean, right?"
[21:24] <Nikolai> "I just learned how to bring other people with as well."
[21:25] * Yuki` nods. "Yes, it is rather far. It's not like a trip from here to Refulgo."
[21:25] <Yuki`> "...not as far as the trip you took, though."
[21:26] <GM|> *Rachel *humphs*, and sits back down.  "I'm just good at altering the flow of time.  Being a Chronomancer seems cool at first glance, but it lacks the flair of Walter.  Dude makes things burn!"
[21:26] <Nikolai> "Well it's hard to match that... unless you can do this."
[21:26] <GM|> *Graham nods.  "Although some would say that our travel distance was nothing at all."
[21:26] * Nikolai points to a window, and sends a chunk of astral rock to crash into the ocean.
[21:27] <Yuki`> "I'll take your word for it.  I do not know such matters.  ...I assume all of you can do some sort of magic?"
[21:28] <GM|> *There are yells of surprise out the window, very angry sounding.
[21:28] <Nikolai> "By the way, I like that word, Chronomancer..."
[21:28] * Nikolai gulps.
[21:28] <Nikolai> "... I may have gotten carried away..."
[21:28] <Yuki`> "..."
[21:29] <Yuki`> "I think our services may be needed earlier than I thought."
[21:30] <GM|> *Grahm nods.  "Walter's a pyro, locals call them "Black Mages", Rachel a Chronomancer, I got trained by some guy named Ferrum in Runic Arts, Bill's damned good with his sword, and Mark's sneaky."
[21:30] <Nikolai> "Sounds very multifaceted."
[21:30] <GM|> *An officer walks into the room, banging open the door in the process.  "Who did that?" He demands.
[21:30] * Yuki` blinks. "Ferrum? That name sounds disturbingly familiar..."
[21:31] <GM|> *Graham shrugs.  "He's an exile, from what I learned."
[21:31] * Nikolai coughs. "I did, sir. I apologize, it was only intended as a demonstration."
[21:32] * Nikolai bows.
[21:32] <GM|> The officer walks up to Nikolau and stares him down.  "Do that again, and I will personally toss you off the ship."
[21:32] <Yuki`> "Ah... I might need to look into some historical records later."
[21:33] <Nikolai> "Duly noted."
[21:33] <Nikolai> "Just the once, right?"
[21:34] * Yuki` looks at the officer. "I will also keep an eye on him, sir, to ensure that this doesn't happen again. ...outside of a battle situation of course, Gods forbid."
[21:34] <GM|> *The officer glares at Nikolai.  Really angry-annoyed like.  "Make sure of it."  He stomps away.
[21:34] * Nikolai rolls his eyes.
[21:35] * Nikolai turns back to Rachel, and talks shop about TIme Magic for a while. He seems to enjoy the chance to discuss his abilities with someone who understands them.

[21:36] * Yuki` looks back to Graham. "...anyway, it sounds like your group has a wide range of abilities."
[21:37] <GM|> "We do, Miss Yuki.  Although given the few numbers of us able to make the trip, it was a case of 'take what you can'.  I know that Bill was an accountant before being transferred to this job."

[21:38] <Yuki`> "...I imagine, knowing what can be done here, it's harder to hide such abilities on your own world."
[21:39] <GM|> "Some are easier to hide than others.  Bill's sword skills were hidden for the most part with his fancing club, before he did some weird thing at a tournament.  That brought him to our attention."

[21:50] <Yuki`> "Then my advice is, this world can get a little mad at times.  Just try to accept it as you can, and take it slow.  It will come with practice."
