does not like where this is going...
[19:33] * Raoul sees his breath form in front of him. Hunh! But he
returns his attention to the ruined thing.
[19:33] <GM|JonB> *The wind is starting to pick up a little bit, but
nothing serious. Off in the distance, you can hear somone yelling,
back in the direction where you first arrived on the scene.
[19:33] <Nikolai> "I'd be lying if I said I was feeling optimistic."

[19:34] <GM|Aede> "...lloooo...!"
[19:35] * Yuki` blinks. "...anyone else hear that?"
[19:35] * Nikolai winces. "Almost wish I didn't..."
[19:36] * GM|Aede crests the ridge, and quickly spots the party,
dressed in bright orange and all. She quickly runs across the terrain
to the party.
[19:36] <GM|Aede> "Hey! Sorry I'm late. Dias has the worst timing.

[19:36] * Raoul squints. "Ah! Hello, Aede!"
[19:36] <Nikolai> "...Ms. Keirley. Good to see you."
[19:36] * GM|Aede is wearing a light windbreaker over her gear. She
definately seems underdressed for the weather, but doesn't seem to be
feeling it.
[19:37] <Yuki`> "So. As you see, we found the crash site."
[19:37] <GM|Aede> "Nice to see you guys too. I hate portaling
around, it just gets me wrong. And cool. I'm sure Dias would want
that hunk of junk back. Anything else?"
[19:38] * Yuki` points down at the shadows of the
buildings. "...that, mainly."
[19:38] * GM|Aede blinks and looks at the remains. "Oh... Abyss.."
[19:38] * Nikolai points a thumb at the scene of destruction.
[19:38] <Raoul> "Yes. You can see why it perturbs us so."
[19:39] <GM|Aede> "Like something blew up. I've never seen anything
like this before."
[19:39] <Nikolai> "Me neither. At least not firsthand."
[19:39] <GM|Aede> "Have you had a look around yet, find anything
that's left of this place?"
[19:40] * GM|Aede sits down on the stone foundations, and looks out
across the blast zone, her eyes loosing focus as she does so. "I
mean, there has to be something else here, right?"

the explosion, but it still looks usable.

[19:43] * Raoul jogs over, rubs his hands together, and tries to pull
it open. If that fails, he can always resort to using his sword as a
lever.
[19:43] * Nikolai is always careful to put someone durable between
him and the unknown, and Raoul certainly fits the bill.

[19:43] * GM|Aede walks over, and stands behind Yuki. "Don't mind us
ladies. You gents can take care of the muscule stuff."

slightly dark staircase leading down into the gorund. It's stone,
and the light from outside gives you some illumination.

[19:46] * Yuki` silently nods and pulls out her knife.

[19:46] * Raoul smiles. ^_^
[19:46] * GM|Aede follows, and smiles at Raouls' comment. "A real
gentleman. A rarity!"
[19:47] * Nikolai hops down after Raoul, smiling at something
internal.
[19:47] * Yuki` follows behins the other two and in front of Aede.
[19:47] <GM|Aede> "Also, if anyone doesn't have a light, Dias gave me
a few of these, just in case." *She pulls out a half-dozen light
sticks, each about 10 inches long.
[19:48] * Nikolai holds out his hand for one.
[19:49] * GM|Aede snaps one, emitting a nice green light, before
handing them out to whoever wants one.
[19:49] * Raoul will take one as well - always ready to try out new
tech. "Ooh. For when no white mage is available?"
[19:49] * Yuki` looks at them for a moment, then takes one and puts
it in her pockets.
[19:50] <GM|Aede> "Something about feild testing chemical reactions
in adverse environments. He thinks I'm his personal test subject.
Teaches me to get hired as a guide..." *Her voice drops off a
mumbles at the last bit.
[19:50] * Nikolai pockets his light stick without comment.
[19:51] * Raoul will try to emulate Aede's actions with the tube -
snap, then shake - and watches it go. But then he gets moving; always
new stuff to see.

antechamber. The stone is smooth down where, and the stairs seemed
well traveled. You get to the bottom, and there is a single door

it.

artificial lights the party wield. It extends in some distance, and
at teh far end you can see vaugly some heavilly reinforced doors.
There are alternating doors to the left and right.

[20:10] * Yuki` keeps her knife close by.
[20:10] <Raoul> "Those doors at the end - whatever was here, perhaps
was there."
[20:11] <Nikolai> "Raoul, try the doors please."
[20:11] * GM|Aede pulls out what looks like a saxaphone, and keeps it
at the ready. "This place is like a dungeon."
[20:11] <Raoul> "Of course." -_-
[20:11] <Yuki`> "Probably is. Or was."

[20:12] * Raoul will try the first left door, then, same way as
before - but this time, listen for a moment first. The atmosphere is
beginning to get to him.

worry.

of the door, but other than that... Nothing.

when he notices the note on the sign. ""Sleep?'"
[20:15] * Raoul will attempt to open it, then, if not stopped by
anyone else.
[20:16] * Nikolai stands slightly off to the side.
[20:16] <GM|Aede> *The door opens silently, revealing a small room
with a half-dozen bunks along the left wall, and the right wall
having certain amenities, including a leaking shower stall, open and
sunk further into the rock that the surrounding floor.
[20:17] <Raoul> "Someone lived here, once. Quite a few someones."
[20:17] <GM|Aede> "Anyone seen any torch holders or the like?"
[20:18] <GM|Aede> *There is no staleness in the air, in fact, it
looks like people where here just a few hours ago.
[20:18] <Nikolai> "Hmm."
[20:19] <Yuki`> "Seems like they left a little while ago, too."
[20:19] <Nikolai> "I could speculate that this was the base of the
source of that devastation outside."
[20:20] <GM|Aede> "There are a few other doors, maybe there's a
survivor?"
[20:20] <Yuki`> "Worth a check, at least."
[20:20] <Nikolai> "Actually, I'm thinking in terms of perpetrators."

that she had been flipping over. She tumbs through it before
pocketing it. "Probably a journal."

kind."
[20:25] <GM|Aede> "Shall we move on?"
[20:25] <GM|Aede> *Raoul sees that the second left side door on the
main corridor also leads into this room.
[20:25] <Yuki`> "Yeah, probably should move on. That journal in that
Russian, too?"
[20:26] <GM|Aede> "Seems like it. But it's hand written."
[20:26] * Raoul will listen at the door opposite - first door, right-
hand side. Barring any dangerous sounds, he'll open it.
[20:27] * Nikolai holds his hand out. "May I see it?"
[20:27] <GM|Aede> *It opens again, into a small office. There's a
*lot* of paperwork here, in cabinets and even on the table. There's
an oil lamp, turned off on the table as well.
[20:28] * GM|Aede hands it over. "Sure."
[20:28] * Raoul leans back into the bunkbed room. "If you are looking
for more reading material, I believe I have found it."
[20:29] * Nikolai scans the paperwork for anything quickly legible
and pertinent
[20:29] * GM|Aede pokes her head into the office. "If I were
important paperwork, where would I be hiding?"

conducted by the inhabitants of this place."

device which was the basis of experiment..."

experimentors..."

as not aptly considered."

door on the right connect to the office again?

supply closet. Plenty of food and various supplies for people nott
expecting resupply for maybe a couple months.

[20:44] * Raoul won't bother poking around much; he'll move on to the
door in the back.

room..."

supply room, seemingly parallel to the door in the back of the hall.
[20:45] <GM|Aede> *This one is obviously locked from the this side

[20:47] <Raoul> "The hallway door. Likely the one used more often -
likely to be more usable, period."

side. It's easy to tell it was to keep something in. Nikolai can
read the word that roughly translates as 'Lab'.

into the door. It swings open, revealing a medical lab, complete
with a huge stone table in the middle, racks of equipment along one
side, and most out of place, a thick plexiglass window on the right
side which shows empty animal cages on the other side of the large
room.
[20:54] * Nikolai sighs unconscientiously.
[20:54] * Yuki` frowns. "Still doesn't seem like much of anything
here."
[20:55] <Raoul> "More questions. What do animal cages have to do with
explosions?"

[20:55] * GM|Aede looks around, getting a very ill expression on her
face
