I've found that sending my darts to the hotel, 2-day Fed-Ex for usually about $11 is the way to go. They hold them at the front desk until I check in to the hotel.

I had my checked bag held up by TSA on the way to a tournament recently, I didn't get my bag until well after midnight on Friday night. I will never forget to Fed-Ex my darts again!

Yes, it may cost me $11 or $12 to send my darts, but at least I know they'll be there when I get to the hotel. And I don't have to pay $25-$30 to the airline for the inconvenience of checking a bag.
