Dark Urth was a pencil and paper Tabletop RPG, now an on-line context to my thought-child. It is a World fraught with treacheries and dangers. THe game has few if any stats, each player is delt a hand of 7 cards from which they can accomplish certain tasks, the game is relatively fast paced when played in person, and I will try to keep the pace up here.

Spades, and Clubs are useful for offensive actions.
Spades, and Diamonds are useful for actions requiring skill, dexterity, or just plain guts.
Diamonds and Hearts are good for defensive actions, and actions of a healing, or "magical" nature.

"Magic" does not per se. It is misunderstood technology, or psionics (mind magic). In Dark Urth there is no War (War has been outlawed for 8 centuries). Political Disputes have been settles by Gladitorial Contest. Gladiators are greatly revered since the fate of a nation in border disputes can come down to the strength of one man.

True "Magicians" are taken off by the Magi (considered one of Urth's greatest honors) to be traied in the arts of mind over matter. Some are left behind because their control of the arts are to crass for the refinements necessary within the towers of the magi, they become teamsters those who guide the bio-mechanical machinery of the age. But a new age is dawning, it is so early in its days that no one (not even the Magi) has seen the coming, the storms of change that loom upon the borderlands... It is now an age of heroes.

Each starts with different abilities, and equipment all have their advantages and disadvantages. You are young to the world so much will be described in the entry email, as well as your first draw. Understand that you also have a choice of race as well, the choices change some of the starting equipment:
