I wanted to know if anyone here had successfully emulated the Roland
MT-32.
Microprose coded support for the Roland sound board religiously in
their games. I was sort of wondering how many players used this board
to play the analog music for their games, rather than the
comparatively dumpy Adlib or soundblaster card. The MP3 that I
uploaded should give you an idea of the nice musical quality.
The MT-32's internal memory can be dumped as a ROM file, downloaded
and distributed on the net, and apparently mounted into DosBox. It is
probably illegal to distribute such a file unless you purchased an
MT-32 (even though they are no longer built). The emulation for
Dosbox is also very difficult-- I've never succeeded before with it.
