In my opinion, that kind of exploit, in roleplaying terms, would be like going
to get a car that cost $10000 and bargaining until you get it for $50 (or less,
if you keep bargaining).

Well said. As always, I am constantly amazed at the level of
intelligence exhibited in the Darklands community.

Interesting that you mention role-play. I am actually an avid and
practiced role-player but usually more so in mmorpgs and dungeons and
dragons games.
How do you accomplish role-play in a single player DOS game with no
one to interact with? Do you write in character stories or do you
mean role-play as a matter of game immersion?
My role-playing justification for such conduct is that my adventuring
party commands a high price as legendary heroes. In character they
would continue negotiating with the local Prince until they are
satisfied that they will be rewarded well for the risk and
compensated justly for destroying a rival power that disrupts trade
and oppresses the kingdom.
