Re: Welcome & Request

What I have noticed is that the quality of the artwork and quality of the
books looks are directly porpotionate to the quality of information inside.

This is definatly true. I have noticed quite a few books with dissapointing
artwork, that have truly been a waste of time to look through.

My theory

knowing that no other publisher will put out the quality of authentic
Dungeons and
> Dragons (TSR/WOTC) products, and I think they have raised the bar somewhat.

This is an interesting way to think of it. And for some companies that have
really grasped the feel and touch of the OGL, they are in ways rising the bar
for WOTC. Such as Sword & Sorcery, Green Ronin's Freeport products, and Atlas
Games Products. All three of the companies are pumping out some really great
stuff in my opinion. Although I'm not much of a fan for S&S's scarred lands
setting, the creatures, spells, ritual magic and such is really interesting.
And with sub divisions like Malhavoc Press, they are definatly making an
impact on WOTC!

My only complaint is that everything seems geared towards a younger
audience.

True enough. But then again look at how much $$ they made of the whole
Pokemon CCG. Although Pokemon itself is dying out rather quickly, the whole
Anime scene is pounding forth stronger than ever. I have the feeling we will
start seeing some official products for these setting soon enough. If not
from Wizards then from other companies. Yu-Gi-Oh, Cowboy Bebob, and a whole
shlew of others are hitting the charts now. My little brother basically lives
to watch those TV shows.

Elbryan let me get a little info on what
> kind of columns you are wanting written.

Basically I am looking for anything d20 and OGC. Whether it be PrC's, new
magic, rules, ideas, DM help articles, Player help articles, or whatever
really. If you head over to the site and download the first issue of TL, that
will give you some ideas. The first issue has some kinks in it, such as not
being totally OGL complient. But the second one is pretty set. For the most
part though we are looking to assemble a stead group of writers. The forum
has quite a bit more info to find out if your interested as well. Let me know
if you have any specific questions and I will answer them.

I like the open gaming license idea. The d20 system in itself seems both more simplified and at the same time adds a new demension to game play. There are a...
