I remembered the Metacreator demo worked fine, so I installed that too and
compared the settings...the demo had the "Apply Selection Rules" unticked. When
I unticked that in the full version, I was able to satisfy requirements.
Obviously I don't know the Unecessary Evil rules well enough. All I did was
asked to create new character using the NE template, went straight to Edges,
picked Gadgeteer, asked it to automatically satisfy, and then told me it
couldn't satisfy the following requirements: Werid Science and Arcane Background
(Weird Science).
