Description

Welcome to the Colorado Springs Chess News Yahoo group!

This Yahoo group is designed to promote the Colorado Springs Chess News website, a source for sharing information about chess to the Colorado Springs and surrounding area’s chess community.

You can sign up for the FREE newsletter by email at the website (http://cs.chess.home.att.net/) without having to join the Yahoo group. Once you receive the newsletter, you can send in your own chess news or chess games by replying to the email address.

However, the Yahoo group provides another way to share comments, news, games, photos, links, and other chess items. It has replaced the now-defunct guest book feature.

Colorado Springs Chess Newsletter

The newsletter began on March 1, 2004 as a way for me to receive and distribute any last minute schedule changes about local chess events and to put to use the analysis and publishing features of my Fritz 8. However, I soon realized that I liked reporting on the results of my local club and adding some humorous comments about the games I was publishing. So, during my chess season (typically February to August) the newsletter will contain at least a couple of articles from me (This Week In Chess and Game Of The Week). Every now and then, I will receive chess news, chess games, or other chess stuff from my readers, which I am more than happy to include, as I think it makes for a better newsletter. It doesn’t matter where you are from or what the news is about (as long as it is about chess); you are welcome to contribute.

Colorado Springs Chess Club Championship - week 3
Only one unbeaten remains. The title bout will be former champion Jeff Fox (1999) vs Imre Barlay, who needs a win to force a playoff. Jeff can claim the title
