One thought I had was that there are maybe 4 different measures here...
1. The top 5 slots in scoreboard.
It confuses when people all get the maximum XP and the code sorts
by name. This generally triggers the "can we reset?" discussion.
A better display might be all people with max XP shown in
an "honor roll".
2. so-called Master of the Elements
This is when someone unites the elemental talismans.
This event typically marks the start of the level 30 wars...
and eventually people wonder when all the level 30s can be
cleared out and the race to 30 started over.
3. The true master of the elements
Someone who has level 30 in all 8 element/class combinations...
*without multi-playing!*
If you have beaten the game as fighter and mage each, in each of
the 4 elements, then you've truly solved the game. Using multiple
characters to level or as pack mules and whatnot undermines and
cheapens this, so I wouldn't really count that.
4. Never end the wars, just retire the heros.
Instead... when a character reaches "the end" - retire it, and
leave the game running, but clear them off the active, usable
list and mark them as a hero of the element or whatever.
Lots of end-game possibilities here... for specific characters
or for that game run.

Yes, the karma loophole is one that works to only penalize
fighters, so I have always left karma disabled.
The solution here is factions/teams/clans who defend smaller
player <of their element>.

The intention was to have a choice between "regular" and
"extra crispy" (no Peter, I don't mean extra you!)

What is mind? No matter. What is matter? Never mind.

It's probably been a decade since the last time the game was reset.. I think it's about time to start everyone off on common ground and see what happens....
... I'd like to also know what "events" cause people to think its better to reset than keep playing level 30 wars? I always thought "when someone gets Master...

Oh, jeez, no way!!! Just create new characters and challenge yourself that way. I don't want to lose all the level 30 mages and fighters I made. I just...
NO. the game is designed to never reset I've seen MOTE of 4 different players in the same day, you gonna reset for each of those? ... From: Robert "Exile In...
... Of course not. The idea was "when someone makes MOTE, is that when to trigger the discussions about resets" ... not "MOTE = automagic instant reset". ...
The issue is that it is very reasonable that if someone wanted to start from scratch, they could build two level 30 characters and make MotE in 2 weeks. I...
I don't like the idea of losing all the work. If people want a challenge, why not start a whole new character. Once my air mage finished, I started an earth...

A reset would be OK I suppose. It would be kind of a bummer to lose my level 30s. I spent a lot of time getting a wizard for each element, but it really...
Why not just do away with the high score list altogether Just use the MOTE as a seperate item That way no reset is needed and if you want your name to shoe, go...
I know MotE is TECHNICALLY winning the game.. but let's be realistic.. it can be done with an earth lord and air wiz (the two easiest characters to make mind...

The XR2 would be a better choice. If the current game gets reset froom the complaints of a few, I wonder how many of the players with a lot less time to play...
We always did it after 4 people "won" the game, sometimes we did it when one of each element "won" the game, but that's up to you...it was never when "one"...
