Dark Age is a great Sci-Fi game based on the Artwork of Brom. It is a
feast for the eyes as the armies are small, so the players tend to
put a lot of work into their handful of figures.
Thanks to BJ in advance for all the hard work he is putting into this
event. It has been a real pleasure to work with this group on this
convention.
We have at least 8 spaces 4x4 set aside for this event right now. We
will re-evaluate the need for more space at the end of 2007 based on
pre-registrations. It is always exciting to see a game like this
expand in popularity like it has over the last few years.

Please see www.mongoosepublishing.com for details on this game system.
It is based on the popular TV series.
Our guest Judge will be Alex Fennell, the President of Mongoose
Publishing. Our presiding Judge will be Greg Dryanski.
We are currently expecting 20 players, and anticipate capping the event
at 30 players.
It is planned to begin late Saturday afternoon, and carry into the
evening of April 19th to allow for our friends from around the
Southwest to play too. Our annual Friday night Tournaments have been
prohibitive of this.
Please look for more details on this popular event here at at the yahoo

Finally, a convention that ties in with Spring Break at the school I
work at!
I'll be heading into Vegas on the 13th, and have secured a suite at
the Jockey Club, across the street from Bally's (my parents' timeshare
was going unused). Some spare bed/floor space MAY be available.
I'd love to meet up with some locals for some pre-con gaming, or
perhaps a guided tour of some of the local gaming spots.
I may be tempted to participate in the Star Wars Miniatures or Formula
De events. I'd be interested in seeing Axis & Allies Miniatures,
Munchkin or Zombies!!! events, and am willing to play plenty of
boardgames, like Power Grid, Scepter of Zavandor, Vegas Showdown
(sounds like an obvious one), Talisman, Pillars of the Earth.
Wargames are good, too, but I realize that there may not be too many
opponents for those.
Jason,
Thanks for the Neoncon plug! Incidentally, I've been interviewed by
several prominent gaming podcasts about NeonCon. During the
interviews, I've been dropping the Conquest Vegas name and URL as well.
Talk soon.

There is not going to be a huge amount of traffic up here in October.
With WOTC's pre-release two weeks ago, the opening of Little Shop of
Magic this weekend, NeonCon and RennFaire the next, my Civil War
Reenactment after that - followed by Atomicon 2007 the first weekend in
November.
So please expect to see a lot more information from me start to

Hi gang,
We are pleased to announce our first two guests for ConQuest VEGAS,
being held April 18-20, 2008 at the Bally's in Las Vegas.
Peter Adkison - Founder of Wizards of the Coast, and CEO/Owner of
GenCon, LLC.
James Ernest - Founder of Cheapass Games. Creator of 'Kill Dr. Lucky',
'Diceland', 'Buttonmen' and many, many more.
Both are GAMA Hall of Fame members.
More guests to be announced soon!

Hi gang,
Just wanted to let everyone know that we've deleted the jpeg of the
preliminary proposed floorplan for ConQuest VEGAS, because, well, it
was preliminary and proposed! :-)
A couple things may be changing as we shake down the space
requirements and what the hotel is requiring from us. Once we publish
(probably later this week) a 'final' version, then you can assume
prices and such will be sealed in stone.
Take care, and thanks for all the feedback,
Gabriel - ConQuest VEGAS
Hi gang,
Just wanted to let you all be the first to know that we are now firming
up our agreement with the Bally's in Las Vegas for ConQuest VEGAS April
18-20, 2008!
I've posted some pictures in the photos area showing you the space we
will have (over six thousand sq ft!) and a photo of the view we have
from the space at the top of the Bally's!
Thanks to all of your for your support and enthusiasm for this game
convention. With all the help offered, I'm sure this will be our very
best first year show ever!
Take care,

Hi everyone,
I just got back from ConQuest SF over the Labor Day weekend. I got to
say I had a great time, and their Staff was very gracious in helping
accomadate my (what I consider) last minute participation a month
out. One of the reasons I went was to get a feel for the speed of
ConQuest, versus our local speed. I felt it was effectively the same
way of looking at and handling things. Even in as simple as how their
historical, non-historical and Games Workshop miniature gamers
arranged things.
The most noticeable differance was in how the Flea Market was
handled. It was set at a specific time, and booths were pre-arranged.
More on that at another time. Naturally the Retailers also had a set
of hours they were open, and the vendor room was otherwise closed.
Anyhow... I am looking foward to things, and hoping you are too.
Please keep an eye on the Polls and give us your feedback. In
September we will be opening up our Website, and by November I want
to start getting a more serious feel for GM and Player participation
so we can start to really schedule events.
On more of a personal note, I even ran into a friend of my families
running the evil "D" game's Tournament! That was a real treat for my
wife as well. I had not seen him since he had worked with the Babylon
5 CCG. It was a really great time, and a really great view. From the
Demonstrators aspect, I ran about a dozen 800 point games of Starship
Troopers over the course of 18 hours on Saturday and Sunday. I always
had 2 to 5 players per game at my table, so even that was extreamely
well recieved.

Heya Dan,
Okie... you are tenatively on the hook for this one now :> Keep me in
the look for your needs, time sconstraints, etc. Start thinking of a
senario using 2nd Edition of the RPG. The incorperation and lisencing
of Traveller is to effect Starship Troopers, not Babylon 5. Alex liked
the idea too, so be afraid. I expect he will have some advice for us
later on as he has done this before with Claudia in the UK. I will get
with the Con staff and work on taking care of Jerry. I have already
been chatting with him off and on regarding this possibilitiy.

Enter your vote today! A new poll has been created for the
conquestvegas group:
Would you be interested in a show wide painting competion? Brackets being akin
to Sci-Fi, Historical and Fantasy. With sub-categories being Vehicle/Large, Unit
and Single. Obviously there would also be a "Best of Show" category for a total
of 10.
o Not interested
o Good Idea
o Yes - but no ribbons
o Yes - but no plaques
o Yes - but must have a "slayer sword"
o Yes - any combination of prizes
o Yes - but must have a gift certificate for paints

Please make sure you respond to the Polls up here. We want to vote on
those till November 1st. After November 1st we have only 6 months left
till the Vegas show. So that still gives us ample time to advertise
games, and the like. Please help us provide the best program we can for
you to attend!

Tom,
I have updated the Database section with perspective games.
Perhaps if we offer the "Las Vegas Cup" for Formula De, other Cons
will offer something similar. Just need someone to run it now...

Vegas, I have included a few. It contians 32 pictures (2 sets) of
different kinda of games put on by the Las Vegas Wargamers, 250th Lift
Company, Las Vegas Gamers Club, and the SinCity OGRE's. Since 2004 we
have previously held Cons and Local Cons under the names of Desert Wars
(used with permission from Two Hour Wargames), Atomicon and May Madness
(used in partnership with the LVGC), and Spring Roll (used with
permission from Las Vegas Wargamers).

Heh.
I was going to say "non-historical" and/or "collectible mini's".
Depending upon what booster releases are available, I might have
horror/hero/halo clix events. Unless you need a catagory right at the
momoment, I'd say just leave them as non-historical/collectable.
Charles?
Would you consider Horrorclix as Sci-Fi or Fantasy minis?

Well, that was quick...
WK has approved me for the convention. So I will be running some
clix events (with WK prize support) for sure.
Hello everyone.
I have contacted WK regarding the Convention.
Hopefully, I will be able to obtain prize support from them for my
planned horrorclix events.
Great to see this forum up and running.
April seems so far away, but of course, without planning it arrives
all to quickly...
Hi everyone,
Curtosey of Greg Dryanski from the LVWargamers.org, and Alex Fennell
from Mongoose Publishing... we should be able to host the
largest "Babylon 5: A Call to Arms" tournament in the US. Greg Dryanski
is responsibile for the quality B5:ACTA tournaments in Las Vegas to
date. Since its release in 2004, we have had a strong enough following
of this game to grow from a 7 to a 22 player tournament just from
people local to Las Vegas.
The second edition of B5:ACTA just hit the shelves this last week. I
will have a copy of it with me at ConQuest SF in a couple of weeks.
