Game Submission Deadline Extended
The deadline for GMs to qualify for a Free Weekend admission to
Pacificon (September 4-7, 2009) for submitting a game to run at the show
has been extended through July 10. Three slots (six hours) of GMing
earns you a weekend badge to the Pacificon Game Expo
<http://www.pacificongameexpo.com/> this year. GMs may still submit
games to run at the show after July 10, but will not qualify for free
entry to the convention.
Pacificon Announces FREE Market
Everyone is looking for places to save money these days, right? Well, we
figure one of the best ways to afford to come to the show is by bringing
some of your old games to sell at the show. So we are doing away with
the Flea Market at our shows, and introducing the Pacificon FREE
Market!!
We are eliminating the fee to sell at the newly renamed FREE Markets on
Friday and Saturday nights. That's right. For FREE. F. R. E. E. No
charge. Gratis.
We are also expanding the space for the FREE Market to better accomodate
sellers and shoppers. Sellers will be required to have full weekend
passes, Buyers may have either weekend or day passes. First crack to
sell will be offered to GMs who are running games at Pacificon. We gotta
take care of the GMs, right...or we have no games to play! Afterwards,
we will offer the tables to pre-registered attendees of Pacificon. (If
you have already purchased a Flea Market table this year, you will be
issued a FREE Market table instead.)
For full details go to the FREE Market tab on the Pacificon Game Expo
website <http://www.pacificongameexpo.com/> .
Apologies to those of you getting this multiple times!

Hi Brent,
1) No Larps this year...we just didn't have the space on a first year
show to make it happen, but we are already talking with the hotel about
next year to make that a go!
2) The Firefly games at Pacificon were GM'd by Bob Johnson....who is
not in attendance at Reno this year. Perhaps I'll see about coaxing him
out for next year's show.
3) No Texas Hold'em scheduled as of yet. But we will put out a player
interest form for people.
Take care, and see you there,
Gabriel

Hi gang,
I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone who came out for
our ConQuest RENO gameday last Saturday. We had nearly 40 people at the
event, and everyone was having a good time.
Everyone got to get a look at the convention space, and we found the
service at the hotel to be truly remarkable. Anyone coming to ConQuest
RENO next Nevada Day weekend should have a splendid time with their
entire family.
Special thanks to the folks from Hero Games for their prize support
donations, and for the GMs who ran games, and all the nifty new
boardgames that people got to try out.
The folks at United Way food bank were very thankful for the donation of
canned goods. I'm sure the families that will be helped by them will be
very, very grateful indeed.
To our ConQuest staffers, Mike Zbella from Reno and Alexis Randall from
Concord, CA, who helped run the gameday, I want to especially thank
since I got to spend most of the gameday recovering from food poisoning
in my hotel room. My apologies for not being able to sit down and play
with you all...but it was very, very nice to meet each and every one of
you. And thanks to you all for your kind words and well wishes. I am
fairly well recovered now, just getting my body rehydrated now that I'm
back home. :-)
And for those of you who missed out, or need that gaming itched
scratched some more...don't forget about the Reno Roleplayers gameday
coming up this Sunday. If not for the eight hour drive, I would be their
for sure! Especially if it's made up of the same folks who came to the
ConQuest RENO gameday last Saturday.
We're gonna have a GREAT show next Oct/Nov.
Take care, and talk with you soon,

Glad to see that we finally have something to replace the old Sierra
Con that David Chong(?) used to put on. Not sure that I can make it
Saturday but I might. Will be happy to put on 1 or more miniature
events at the con. Ancients, acw, colonial, microarmor (modern &
scifi), HOTT, & Warmaster are all things I can do very easily.

Hi gang,
Just a quick note in response to some inquiries we've had about the
ConQuest RENO gameday being held Saturday June 14 from 9am 9pm.
The location will be the Grand Sierra Resort, and the event will be on
the Mezzanine level in the Shasta Room.
Bring games to play! We'll bring a few and share with you all. I
will bring my old Titan game to play as well! Robert Danari is bringing
a 4th edition module to run. What are other people bringing to play?
The event is free, but you need to register at
http://www.conquestreno.com <http://www.conquestreno.com/> and we are
asking that you bring a can of food. United Way food bank in Reno is
bringing a barrel for us to make the donations in, and the convention
will match the cans brought by you all. So, you can come and have
fun and make a difference!
Take care, and see you there,

ConQuest RENO GameDay June 14
Also in a sort of celebration of sorts we will be hosting a
FREE ConQuest RENO Gameday <http://www.conquestreno.com/> on Saturday
June 14 at the Grand Sierra Resort. Even though it's free, you still
need a ticket from our online ticketing system to attend, and we ask
that you bring a canned food item to the event that we will donate to a
Reno-area food bank. The gameday will be a day of open game play of all
sorts, but we will also be offering a limited schedule of games.
This will be your chance to come on out and let us know if you are
interested in helping us to create ConQuest RENO
<http://www.conquestreno.com/> , and meet the folks in the community and
beyond who are working hard to create this fun community event. And,
with the donation of one can of food, its absolutely FREE!

Hi gang,
This fall, Reno, Nevada will be home to the newest convention in the
ConQuest family...ConQuest RENO! We want to welcome one and all as we
work towards building a really fun and enjoyable convention experience
for the community. Our plan includes hosting all sorts of games
including all kinds of board games, role playing games, miniature games,
collectible games, and so much more!
ConQuest RENO will have a vendors room, flea market (great for
converting those old dustygames into cash!), and some special events as
well.
If you are interested in helping in some way, then go to the website
http://www.conquestreno.com <http://www.conquestreno.com> and send an
email to one of the three persons listed on the front page, depending on
what you are interested in doing. It's gonna take a whole community to
make an exciting and interesting convention, so we need everyone to be
involved that wants to be.
Our tentative dates are Sat and Sun Nov 1 & 2, and we are still debating
on Fri Oct 31 as well. A lot of that depends on the venue we select for
the show.
So, once again, on behalf of the grand tradition of ConQuest Conventions
and the Pacificon Game Expo, let me welcome you to the families of local
gamers throughout the West Coast! Now, have fun!
Take care,
Gabriel "Mondo" Vega
