MSP (Mud Sound Protocol) supports sound.
MXP (Mud eXtension Protocol) supports 'loose' html entities, including
images (and frames, and etc).
Pueblo (the protocol and client both) support images and sounds-- *if* I
remember correctly.
Some relevent links:
http://pueblo.sourceforge.net/pueblo/index.php
http://www.zuggsoft.com/zmud/mxp.htm
http://www.zuggsoft.com/zmud/msp.htm
Dunno if that'll help or not, the pueblo source is also a project on
sourceforge (didnt look up, so not sure of license) so you can dig through
the code if you get some errors you can't figure out.
There's some information about each on the zmud page at zuggsoft including
how they're handled to some degree.
The one nice thing about msp/mxp is that they're handled in telnet
negotiation. If client can handle it and says it can, they get it... if not
(or if turned off)-- they get none of it.
